I recently installed the VARMINPOOL 1.8 HP Variable Speed Pool Pump, and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase—especially at this price point!
Easy Installation — The installation process was super simple, and I had no issues connecting it with my existing 2-inch piping. Everything fit perfectly, and setup was a breeze.
Intuitive Programming — Setting up schedules was incredibly easy, and the user interface is very intuitive. I was able to program different speeds for various times of the day in just a few minutes.

Simple to install.
So far so good, just hooked it up yesterday. Seems to work great and is quieter than the pentair at the same RPMs. The hookup was pretty simple as well. If it turn out bad I’ll update my review.
This is the 5th pump that I have installed for my 30-year old pool. Since the industry does not standardize the inlet and outlet ports all new PVC lines were needed. The pump looks sturdy and well made. There is a bad error on the electrical wiring instructions. This is a 220/240 volt motor but the manual says that the White wire is a Neutral line. The White wire is a VOLTAGE bearing line and must be connected to one of the hot terminals. The second issue is that after you program the pump (which I found the instructions to be reasonably logical) you must select the Function Mode and change it from inactive to active – otherwise the pump is in manual mode. Calling the telephone line for technical assistance is a waste of time. I found the answers by researching on line. Once installed and running I found it quiet and very powerful – Fix the issues with the instruction manual and I would give it Five Stars.

Installed this 2.5 hp pump yesterday. Required about 2 hours labor for me and my brother in law. Was straightforward to install. Simple in fact. Pump is running smoothly and quietly. Top speed really hums.
Purchased this pump about a year ago and it has worked great up until a month ago. Had a loud whining noise but was still running. Contacted Varminpool and I am very impressed with their customer service. They were very easy to work with and were able to send me a new replacement pump within a week. Connected the new pump and everything is working great again. The pump is very quiet, self priming, efficient, and the timers work great. Very happy with the variable speeds as well. Again, great job to the customer service team at Varminpool.
