I have been wanting to have one of these in my bathroom and I have not been disappointed since I got it. This is super flat and doesn’t slip at all when getting out of the shower. Honestly, I would like to have a larger one so I can move around a bit when I do get out of the shower/bath. This absorbs very efficiently and dries fast. So far, I’ve had no issues with odors or discoloration – I am still trying to figure out if I need to “clean” it. It came with directions on how to care for it but I still feel like I am not cleaning it properly. It fits very well in our bathroom and the grey color fits so well with our bathroom aesthetic.
We are a large household so it gets lots of use and we all love it. It has a bit of weight to it so my smaller kids don’t mess with it and it stays in it’s spot beautifully. This is a nice quality mat to add to your bathroom. This is something I plan to get for our camping trailer as the size would work very well in that smaller space.

Haven’t had for long so don’t know long term use but so far it works as described. The stone naturally absorbs water instead of a regular bath mat that can mildew or get moldy. It is not that big but fit what I needed right outside of shower.
Absorbs well, no musty smells like towels
I decided to try a stone bath mat after getting tired of fabric mats staying damp between showers, and overall this has been a good upgrade. The biggest advantage is how quickly it absorbs water. After stepping out of the shower, the water disappears almost immediately, and the surface dries very quickly. Because it doesn’t stay wet, it also doesn’t develop the damp, musty smell that cloth bath mats often get over time.
I’ve been using it regularly and have been pleased with its durability. One concern I had before trying a stone mat was whether it would crack with everyday use, but so far it has held up well without any signs of damage. The absorbency also hasn’t diminished during the time I’ve been using it.
There are a couple of things to be aware of before purchasing. First, it is smaller than I expected once I put it in front of my shower. It works well for stepping out onto, but if you’re replacing a larger fabric bath mat, be sure to check the dimensions before ordering.
The other drawback is that it slides more than I expected on my tile floor. It isn’t a major issue during normal use, but it does shift if bumped or stepped on at certain angles. Depending on your flooring, you may have a different experience, but it’s something worth mentioning.
Overall, I’m happy with it. It absorbs water exactly as advertised, dries quickly, has remained odor-free, and hasn’t cracked after regular use. If you’re looking for a low-maintenance alternative to a traditional bath mat, this is a solid option, just keep the smaller size and potential for slipping on smooth tile in mind. I do not believe it is worth the price tag, however, and it is not comfortable to stand on for long periods of time.
I was thinking of purchasing one of these stone bath mats, so I was really glad when I could receive one to review. Diatomaceous earth is said to be anti microbial, and not prone to mold formation. This is so important in the bathroom. The stone bath mat is not too thin, and similar thickness to a regular bath mat. It seems to be durable, as long as you don’t drop in on tile flooring, as it could crack. The instructions also note to put it on a flat floor, and you shouldn’t put it on a rug to prevent cracking. It is a nice light gray color, with the brand logo, Orostone, engraved on it. The stone mat is, of course, made of a type of stone so don’t expect it to be soft under your feet. The purpose is to absorb water, and this it does. However, it is not uncomfortable to step on. I put it outside of my shower, and since I usually dry off a lot before stepping out, this stone mat was perfect for absorbing the excess water on my feet. I was a little worried that it might slide around on the floor, but it comes with a net-type pad to prevent sliding, and it did stay in place. I think it’s a nice addition to the bathroom, and although you do need to occasionally stand it up to allow for thorough drying, you don’t need to (and of course can’t) throw it in the washing machine. It comes with a little round of sandpaper to remove any stains, and a suggestions to rinse with water to clean as needed.
This stone mat for the bathroom isn’t in my bathroom… It’s in my kitchen, repurposed as a dish drying mat. It fits perfectly on my kitchen counter and is so much better than those fabric dish mats. Water absorbs instantly and evaporates quickly. There are no drips or overflow onto the countertop, no soak-through underneath, and no soggy fabric mat sitting there. The water just disappears.
I washed it thoroughly before putting it on dish duty, and I haven’t noticed any residue or issues when using it around food. It has held up exactly as advertised.
Fabric dish-drying mats have always bothered me — they get damp, look dingy, and need constant laundering. This is a cleaner, more attractive solution that actually performs better. The minimalist stone look also doesn’t fight with the rest of my kitchen the way a fabric mat does.
The price is definitely not a budget purchase. But if you’ve been tolerating an unsightly fabric mat on your counter, this is a worthwhile upgrade. And if you’re considering it for the bathroom, I’m sure it will work beautifully there too — I just liked it too much to keep it out of the kitchen.
Okay, so I’ll admit I’d never even heard of these until I saw one on Vine. And unlike some, I’ve not really had issues with soaking wet floor mats because, I don’t know, I guess we all mostly dry off while standing in the shower and then dry our feet before stepping out.
Even so, I do think I’m enjoying having something that absorbs so thoroughly and doesn’t collect lint or cat hair. Also a bonus is that the cats don’t feel the need to use it to sharpen their claws the same way they seem to think all rugs in the house are placed for their use.
I haven’t noticed any smells, and so far have not noticed any stains either. The stone arrived in styrofoam within a cardboard box for protection against cracking, and it includes a nonslip mesh pad to place underneath that also protects against it scratching a tile floor. It took a few days to get used to stepping out onto something that wasn’t soft or cushiony, but it definitely does the job.
The stone is easy maintenance, with instructions suggesting that it gets placed upright on its edge every so often to make sure it’s drying out thoroughly. It comes with a small piece of sandpaper to use if any stains appear over time, or if it seems like it’s not absorbing as well. It’s thinner than I expected (but that’s my fault for not looking at the specs) but in no way does it feel flimsy or cheap.
The gray color fits in easily with any decor, and it has subtle wavy lines across the surface to give it a bit of style and elegance instead of just being a big ol’ piece of stone sitting there. It’s a bit pricey, but if it continues to do what it says it will, then that cost will stretch out over years of use.
Dries Fast and Stays Clea
I’ve been looking at stone bath mats for a while, so I picked this one up for my aunt because she’s always been grossed out by traditional bath mats that collect dirt, stay damp, and can eventually develop mold or bacteria. She absolutely loves it.
Her favorite part is how easy it is to keep clean. She can simply rinse it off, it dries incredibly fast, and it doesn’t collect dirt and grime the way a traditional fabric bath mat does.
The only downside is that it’s a little smaller than I expected. In her case, she has a very small bathroom, so it actually ended up being the perfect size. If you have a larger bathroom, though, you may want something bigger.
Overall, I personally do think it’s a little expensive, but my aunt feels the value is there because of how much easier it is to keep clean and that it should last a long time. It’s been a great alternative to a traditional bath mat, especially for smaller bathrooms.
