Easily one of the best games in the franchise!
First things first, the game can be installed completely from disc and does not require any further updates or downloads to run! Updates are available of course, but you can enjoy the game as-is without them. It’s fully playable offline with no internet connection.

As somebody who did not like the first person perspectives of RE7 and RE8, Requiem solves that problem by allowing you to switch between 1st and 3rd person mode freely for both Grace and Leon’s scenarios. You can tweak this setting at any time. This is such a great feature and I hope Konami keeps options like this in any future games.

Requiem is great. It has good controls, much faster and tighter gameplay (similar to the RE4 Remake, and much less like the slow and stiff controls in RE2 Remake and RE3 Remake). The graphics are easily the best I’ve seen in a game in a long time and remind me of Cyberpunk 2077 in terms of their quality and fidelity. The voice acting is amazing and all the actors do a superb job across the board.

The audio is FANTASTIC, great music, really, really good use of effects during the spooky parts. This is one of the few games I’ve played in a while where listening carefully with headphones on is a big part of the gaming experience, and it’s done quite well.

The game has a lot of replayability. I don’t normally replay games immediately after I beat them but I replayed this game six times in a row to get all the items, achievements, and bonus unlocks because it’s just that much fun to play.

So what are the downsides? There’s hardly any and these are more like minor gripes:

    – Insanity mode is really hard as Grace during certain phases where she is getting chased, because the enemy chasing you is nearly invincible. It’s not challenging, but more like punishing.

    – Correspondingly, Leon is overpowered so Insanity mode isn’t hard enough. I wish his scenarios had like twice the enemies at least. It’s still fun of course.

    – There’s no way to pick scenarios to play after you beat the game, you have to go through the whole thing in order. I would have loved to pick specific scenarios to practice on, or to have a mode that puts all of Graces scenes in order, or all of Leon’s.

That’s really it for complaints. Konami really knocked this one out of the park. Given Konami’s issues with mismanagement for a long time now, it’s refreshing to see they can still make the kind of top quality games they used to be known for.

    Resident Evil 9: Requiem
Great game! I just wish I had realized I could have pre-ordered it this whole time as opposed to waiting for it to come back in stock. Nonetheless, it is a GREAT GAME.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersPhysical Copy Available Here!!!
While I haven’t played this game yet, I want to review this game simply for the fact that it is in stock and available for the Xbox Series X. There isn’t one single store within 500 miles of me that has it in stock. Shame on Micro$oft for not having physical copies of this game available for purchase. Thank you to Amazon and Capcom for having this very popular and perfectly executed game available for physical purchase. Can’t wait to play it!!!
