Fun for kids, questionable durability. A bit small.
This thing is honestly a mixed bag for me. The idea itself is fun, especially if you’ve got kids or a group of people hanging around the pool, but for the size and overall quality, I do think it’s overpriced.
Assembly took me around 15 minutes by myself. The directions were okay, but there are a couple things they don’t make super clear. The straight pole pieces have different connector ends – some have a notch and others have a divot – and that matters because of how they lock together. If you’re not paying attention, you’ll end up taking pieces back apart halfway through.
The net was probably the most annoying part. Basically you alternate the yellow and red frame pieces while weaving the net through as you go around. Once I figured it out, it wasn’t terrible, but there was definitely a “wait what exactly are they wanting me to do here?” moment.
The base corners can be filled with water or sand for if you’re playing on land, which is nice in theory, but if you’re using it in the pool you obviously want it light enough to float. Mine doesn’t sit perfectly flat though and has a tendency to tip to one side, so I may experiment with adding a little water for balance. The rings are also very flimsy compared to what I expected from the photos.
One thing I actually did appreciate was the included pump because the basketballs self-seal and don’t use a normal plug opening. You have to insert the needle fully to inflate them, so losing that pump would be a pain.
Once everything is assembled, it is fun, and I can see kids enjoying it a lot. Even adults messing around in the pool will probably get some laughs out of it. I just think the materials and stability could be a little better considering the price point.
