Terrific planters! I always worry about whether plants have enough water or not and this planter has a window that shows me how my spare water supply is doing for the self watering component.
Perfect Set of Stylish, Practical Planters
I’ve been using these self-watering plant pots for a while now, and they’ve been a fantastic addition to my indoor plant collection. The set includes a variety of sizes, making it easy to find the perfect pot for everything from small houseplants to larger foliage plants.
The self-watering feature works exactly as advertised, and the built-in water level indicator takes the guesswork out of watering. It’s especially helpful for busy days or when I’m away for a short trip, giving me confidence that my plants are getting the moisture they need without the risk of overwatering.
I also appreciate the drainage holes, which help keep roots healthy while preventing excess water from sitting in the soil. The modern design looks clean and elegant, blending seamlessly with both home and office dcor. They’re lightweight but feel sturdy and well-made, and they’ve held up well both indoors and on my covered patio.

Clever self-watering desig
These self-watering planters come as a set of four pots and include a handy repotting mat, which is a nice bonus. The setup is fairly straightforward: each pot sits on a water reservoir that twists and locks into place, and a cotton wick threads through the drainage holes so water can be drawn up into the soil as needed. Though it’s difficult to tell exactly how much water the plants are consuming, I appreciate there’s a reservoir indicator that tells me when to refill the bottom part with water, which is one feature I particularly like a lot. It makes it easy to monitor the water level without having to take the planter apart or guess when it needs refilling.
My only hesitation is what happens when it’s time to move plants into larger containers. Since the roots grow near the wicks, I’m curious whether they could become tangled and make repotting more difficult. That said, I haven’t encountered that issue yet.
Overall, these pots are thoughtfully designed, easy to set up, and seem to do a good job of keeping plants watered. I’d recommend them, though I’d rate them 4 out of 5 stars due to the uncertainty around long-term repotting.

Pots That Look Good and Make Sense
I grabbed this set because I wanted something simple and lowmaintenance, and it’s been exactly that so far. Everything came with clear instructions, and each pot took maybe a minute to put together. The base twists on easily, and the wicks were an interesting addition — I wasn’t sure if they’d actually do anything, but they pull up the water surprisingly well. The little seethrough window at the bottom is honestly my favourite feature. It’s so nice to check the water level at a glance instead of guessing or poking around in the soil. It makes the whole selfwatering thing feel a lot more reliable. I also really like that all four pots match. The neutral black colour fits nicely into pretty much any decor, and having a full matching set makes my plant shelf look way more intentional instead of the usual mix of random pots I’ve collected over time. Right now I’ve got basil and mint in the smaller ones, a pothos in the medium, and my snake plant in the big one — all doing well so far. The plastic looks clean and modern, but it is on the thinner side. Not flimsy, just lightweight. Too early to say anything about longterm durability, but for now they’re doing exactly what I need. Overall, super easy to set up, practical features, and the matching set really pulls everything together.
Very satisfied with these pots - you can see the water level!!
I really like these self watering pots, as you can see the level of water in the bottom through the little window. I have other self watering pots where I can’t see the level and I manage to overflow them as I don’t realize when the water is level with the top of the tray.
They are packaged really well – and don’t think (like I did) the biggest bottom tray is missing – it’s “inside” with the other pots and paraphernalia that comes with the pots.
Nice Overall Package
The set of FOUR self watering pots come with everything you will need:
– set of FOUR pots (not 5 pots)
– four removable water collecting tray / base
– four removable side extension filling spouts
– four wicks
– one tarp for working with soil, repotting, etc to keep the mess contained
– instruction manual
The pots have some really nice features:
– side extension water filling spout (optional to use)
– see through window on bottom tray / base for clear indication of how much water is stored
– larger holes in base of pot for the wick (very obvious what they are for)
The instruction manual was quite good at explaining how the twist lock for putting base onto the pots. With a little experimentation, I was able to keep the water level window in a consistent place relative to the filling hole.
On the nit picky negative side, things I thought could be better:
– water volume (in ml) markings beside the water level window are impossible to read (beige on exact same beige background) but really, this is a nit pick because I don’t really don’t need to know volume when I am filling and watching the window until it is filled to where I want it
– instructions are silent on how to put the wick in the pot. First timers, like myself, may need to do an internet search to understand just how it is supposed to be set up and how it is supposed to look overall
– wicks are all pre-cut to the same length. I would have been nice if they cut them different lengths appropriate for each of the different sized pots.
But those negatives are, in my opinion, nit picks. They are something to be aware of, and I don’t think any of them are worthy of deducting from the rating.
Two aesthetic things, which are 100% personal and subjective, but do allow for personalizing these pots to the individual tastes, are:
1. The filler side extension spout, in my opinion, doesn’t look that good. So I will be using a narrow watering spout (see picture) making the extension unnecessary, and therefore not installed.
2. I personally don’t care for the beige base with black pot. One option is to spray paint the base to match the pot (of course masking off the see through water level window), or spray paint both the tray and pot in any color making this a simple and easy personalization.
That all said, I am very impressed with these pots and like them a lot.
Self Watering Planters
These planters look beautiful on my patio and were exactly what I needed to keep my plants watered. My plants were dying during really hot days when I was out of town.
They are good/practical. Self watering looks promising.
What this comes with:
4 pots of different sizes. (Not huge… See product description)
4 water reservoirs
4 wicks
4 mini siphons
And a potting “catch all” mat. (Sort of nice they included that)
Instructions.
First off, the pots…
They are “sort of” decent looking despite being plastic. More functional though than artistic.
I’m having a hard time deciding on whether I use them outside or inside.
The difficulty using them outside is UVs/heat on the plastic. Are they durable enough? And, considering they are self watering, when it rains will they drown the plants? The plastic certainly means I wouldn’t use them for any food plants.
So inside it is.
Unfortunately, I have a lot of really nice pottery style planters.
These pots aren’t that nice.
I guess the big win for these is the self watering. That’s accomplished both through holes in the bottom of the planter which will allow roots to reach down into the water, and through a wicking system where an absorbent rope sits in the bottom of the pot and the ends dangle into the water reservoir.
For plants that need regular attention, this might be a good way to ease your work load a little bit around the house… I’m looking at you Fern!
So, for them (and I have several) I’ll give the planters a shot.
I will say, having used self watering planters before for vegetables, you do have to watch out.
The rope sometimes can’t supply enough water to the plants. But, perhaps that’s just for very greedy types of plants… Like tomatoes?
When watering, watch out. It’s difficult to read the water level on the window provided and it’s easy to over water and have it spill everywhere.
I guess if you’re getting into plants, or feel you have a brown thumb, this might be a great way to help you out and get you used to the process. They also have the bonus of being fairly inexpensive at the writing of this review… That should help. Buy more plants?
If you are a seasoned gardener with tons of indoor plants, this might help you a bit with the watering when you’re ready to pot out some of your plants. (Again, if the esthetics aren’t as important).
Unfortunately, the packaging arrived damaged (see last picture) but that didn’t translate to the pots. So good there.
Sooooo again, good value, functionality looks like it could work (time will tell), bonus potting mat.
Minus half star for some esthetic appeal… Possibly minus a half star for usability outdoors and watering can be problematic.
I won’t take anything off for the damage in shipping.
Worthy of consideration. That’s for sure.
