Works perfectly in my ZD621 Direct Thermal Printer. Much more affordable than OEM. This does differ slightly from the OEM in that it doesn’t include the plastic housing. That part is easy enough to transfer over from your existing print head, but do note you will need this if your printer is completely missing the print head.
Not including this plastic retainer does make ordering to right part a snap though. As Zebra OEM will have different P/Ns (and prices) for Zd420/620/621 Direct Thermal or Thermal Transfer replacement print heads, the actual electronic print head board is the same on all of them. Even features like media dancing are all built into the plastic retainer and mounting system and use the same head. This printhead will be a drop in replacement for all these printers.
I had refurbished these printers for a while, leaving me with a good amount of parts machines. This new printhead allowed me to build a working ZD621 TT out of those parts, so I’m happy. Print quality is just as good as the OEM, printing bold and clear at a darkness setting of 15 with no streaking or spottiness. This visibly looks identical to the OEM part as well.
