MPPT Solar Charge Controller 40A I replaced a smaller unit with this solar charge controller on my off-grid solar system, and first impression was that the display was much nicer. The panels send a charge through this to the inverter and then to the batteries. There are tons of YouTube videos on that, so I won’t. The functionality is nice and paired with the app, it makes it very easy and convenient to use. Easy to connect and compatible with most systems that I know of. This has no self-contained battery but can extend the life of your batteries that you end up using. I was happy with the heat sink size and seems to stay cooler than my old mppt controller. I would recommend this to anyone that needs a good MPPT controller.
Grabbed this MPPT charge controller for my home setup, , and honestly it's been great. Install was dead simple — just used a screwdriver to connect the solar and battery cables. Didn’t need any crimping or special tools. I’m running 12V right now with a couple of 200W panels, and it works perfectly. The 60A rating is definitely overkill for my current setup, but I like that — it means when I add more panels (or upgrade to 24V later), I won’t have to buy another controller. Future-proofing is nice. This thing could easily run a small off-grid cabin or a workshop. Seriously, it’s a beast.
The screen is big and easy to read.The menu is intuitive, almost no learning curve. I barely touched the manual. Plus it’s got built-in WiFi and Bluetooth, so monitoring remotely through the app is super convenient. I can check my system from my phone while I’m at work or on the couch. That alone was worth it.
Overall, highly recommend this charge controller if you need reliable power in rough conditions — hot summers, cold winters, it’s held up fine. Hope it lasts me many years. If it does, I’ll probably buy another one for my shed.
Works as stated. Larger than most with similar specs. I’ve only run this charge controller through a bench test so far. All the specs are right on. The OLED display gives you the critical information, but nothing fancy. See picture. The controller is bigger than most 40 amp units but it looks good and seems to be well built. It has a good sized heat sink inside, see picture, and the fan is decently quiet. I have not yet tested the remote functions, but I tend to use Bluetooth over wife for monitoring anyway. The connectors are large and well built. My only critique so far is the four tiny screws that need to be taken out for wiring access. Easy to drop one into the abyss. Overall it appears to be a good value.
