Easy to Install and Works Grea
I installed this humidity sensing switch in my bathroom to control the exhaust fan, and overall it’s been working well. Installation was straightforward if you’re familiar with basic wiring, and it fit cleanly into a standard switch box. The controls are also easy to adjust; both the humidity sensitivity and the fan run time can be set without much effort, which makes it simple to dial in for your space. In day-to-day use, it’s been convenient to have the fan turn on automatically based on humidity rather than relying on a manual switch. It helps take the guesswork out of when the fan should be running. I did have an issue with the first unit I received where one of the internal wire connections came loose. After replacing it, the current unit has been working as expected without any problems. Overall, this is a solid option if you’re looking to automate a bathroom fan. It’s easy to install, simple to adjust, and works well once up and running.
Absolutely fascinating
I find this to be a fascinating product, and at first, unfortunate timing since I had just recently a few months ago replaced my fan switch in the bathroom with a multi-button timer switch. However, I am a complete nerd when it comes to automation, so I just had to give it a try.
I figured it wasn’t going to be much of a loss, because one way or another, I have a friend that is also in need of a better solution for his bathroom fan. So whichever one doesn’t work the best for me, will go to him (since either should still be ineffective solution). Thankfully, this was very much worth my time, swapping the one I just put in with this one.
It did very well and keeping up with the steam in the bathroom. Sometimes it’ll take a while for the moisture to reach it enough and trigger it, but it is more than reasonable and helps to automate things so you don’t have to remember to always hit the switch. Also, the switch is on the opposite end of the bathroom from the shower, which is about 10 or 12 ft, so I guess that’s reasonable that it might take a minute to register.
Sometimes I like to look at other reviews, is it allows me to better understand something before I click on it. I mean, that’s where reviews are for. I noticed one person mentioned they had a unique situation with a switch that was behind a towel on a rack. This cost complications for the switch, and they seem to have blamed the switch for these complications. However, it was clearly an inadequate design, placing a tow rack over a switch in the first place. Even worse, if you expect a switch like this to work properly behind said rack. So I would say that’s an unfair assessment, has the switch seems to work quite well in normal installation environments/situations.
So I would say this was a great find. Maybe, a little expensive, but still a great find. I happily gave the other switch away that I had, and my friend enjoys that one just fine. Meanwhile, I enjoy this one much more!
Effective automation device
This switch is the best way way to ensure that your bathroom exhaust fan turns on when needed. It really could not be any easier than using this switch. Automated detection of humidity reduces touch points in the bathroom, and I think this switch offers an incredible value and peace of mind that humidity will not accumulate. The integrated humidity sensor is sensitive enough that the fan turned on when I was painting around the switches. The single pole switch is capable of also controlling lights, but if you have it control both, both will turn on when the button is pressed. I opted to have a separate switch for my lights.
Installation was incredibly easy following the instructions on the QR code attached to the switch. My installation in a two-gang switch box was somewhat complex but still only took a few minutes. There are adjustable settings but I have not explored those. I will do so if ambient humidity begins triggering the fan. I’m so pleased with this switch that I bought a second one for my other bathroom.
Perfect addition to my bathroom
Replaced another brand’s humidity switch due to it failing to turn on the fan when taking a shower. The Lutron switch works perfect out of the box. I left the settings at their default values, and it has reliably turned on the fan when showering.
