    Looks so pro!
    First impression for this light is that it looks like a professional installed it. It’s made of metal all around with a very nice matte finish. I’ve had cheap plastic ones before and while it’s purpose is to just light something up (trees in my case), it’ll stand out during the day so having something that looks like it belongs vs some cheap accessory adds to the aesthetic.

    Solid quality wall mount spotligh
    This is a well crafted all metal spotlight to use for your yard lighting. It’s designed to screw into any vertical surface like a wall, fence or tree trunk (however, release your inner druid and don’t do this to your trees). The double swivel mount provides about 310 degrees positioning range of the spotlight (yes.. you could angle the light “backwards” towards the wall). There’s no side-to-side adjustability. Once you bolt the light in, you’re limited to adjustments in that single plane.

    The included LED (which you self-install) outputs a nice warm light (which you can change if you want a different light effect). LED cover screws on and off easily and has a gasket for water tightness.

    A very good spotlight option for those time when a ground level staked spotlight isn’t right. Only strike against this spotlight is the short cord length. Since this is meant to go on a vertical surface it’s more likely to be higher up and will need a longer cable run.

    I've done A LOT of landscape lighting, and this is a very nice ligh
    There is nothing about this light that I do not like, in all honesty. I have installed all sorts of different low voltage landscape lighting in my life, so I am quite familiar with the features and quality of most lights that are out there on the market. This is a great light, made of solid construction and with an included MR16 bulb.

    – The aluminum housing is sturdy and precisely constructed;
    – The main housing for the light bulb screws on very smoothly to the base, making for a watertight seal;
    – There are two ways to position the light, going up and down and also side to side;
    – The bracket is sturdy and plenty strong to hold up under all conditions;
    – Love that the aperture has a sealed glass cover, preventing water from reaching down into the socket;
    – The MR16 bulb is held securely in place by an aluminum bracket, so the light does not have to hold itself in place by just the bipin only;
    – Love the warm light temperature light bulb. It is just the right color and just the right brightness. Landscape lighting should illuminate bushes and trees using warm, soft, gentle light to give that sophisticated and artisanal touch that you see in the courtyards of beautiful hotels, on the grounds of golf courses, and at fancy tropical resorts. There is a nuance to using landscape lighting the right way and it is more about artfully showcasing foliage, shape, and color than it is lighting up the bushes with blinding security-level lighting to prevent burglars and trespassers from hiding in your landscaping. The bulb provided for this light is simply perfect, and if it is not to your liking, you have the option to change out the FREE bulb that the manufacturer provided to a bulb that better suits your needs;
    – The cord is plenty long for most applications and is the STANDARD LENGTH that most low voltage landscape fixtures have coming from the manufacturer. Nobody is going to allow more than a few feet of landscape cord to remain visible, and if you require a super long lead length, a simple application of heat shrink tubing will make for a clean installation when connecting to your main line wire. Professional looking low voltage landscape setups are going to go the extra mile to conceal the cording anyway, so the length that the manufacturer provided is plenty sufficient. I don’t know who would be installing this 10′ in the air or on the roofline, anyway.

    Overall, this is a well constructed light that offers everything required for a professional result. For those who need to know, the instructions say that this light is NOT dimmable. I give it 5 stars!

    A short cord ruins an otherwise perfect light, making it almost-perfect instead
    I live in a house built in the early 1970s. It has three original outdoor post lights from that era that were cheap to begin with and haven’t held up well over time. I have been looking for replacement post lights but can’t find any that I like, much less in my budget. Finally I decided that I would remove those lights entirely in favor of downlighting in some nearby trees. Downlights will illuminate a larger area than those old post lights, will look more modern, and I can utilize the existing wire at the post to power my low voltage setup, leaving it intact in case a future homeowner has a different need.

    I am very impressed with this Makenovo Spot Light. The fixture feels solid in the hand and the metals (stainless for the base, aluminum for the can) will both hold up well in my marine climate. The fixture is sleek and, because it is black, will visually disappear during the daytime, which suits my minimalist aesthetic. On a lighter surface, it would show up more, however, it still has a sleek, modern profile.

    The glass lens also feels high-end and will not get cloudy over time like a plastic lens tends to do. I also love that the lens comes all the way to the front of the fixture, without an obvious seam or cover. Since you unscrew the back of the fixture to insert or replace the bulb, the lens itself doesn’t have to be removable. This, too, adds to the aesthetic. It also means the lens is less likely to fall out and break while you’re changing the bulb. Speaking of the bulb–it has one, which means the entire fixture won’t have to be replaced when the bulb burns out, even if that’s a long time from now.

    There are two things I don’t like about this light:

    1) The short cord. The cord is only 40″ long. This is designed as a down light, for pete’s sake. A 40″ cord isn’t going to be long enough for nearly ANY down light. Yes, I can splice the cord, but why should I when it would have cost the manufacturer maybe fifty cents more to put a longer wire on it to begin with? The splice is going to be visible to anyone who’s looking and I also worry the splice will degrade faster in the weather and sunlight. The length of this cord is not mentioned anywhere in the listing and it should be. But mostly, it should just be longer in the first place. I would say it needs to be 10′. That elevates it as far as the roofline which should serve almost any purpose. In my case, 8′ would have worked great. Three feet serves almost no one. I’m deducting one star for this, though I’m tempted to remove two.

    2) The 320 lumen bulb. This is mostly a matter of preference and the effect you’re wanting with the light. However, I need mine for real, usable illumination and would have liked just a tad more illumination. I do love the warm color of the light–I just wish it were a bit brighter. However, I knew this when I ordered it, so that’s on me.

    There is so much to like about this light, but I wish the cord were longer.
