Some very large SAE crows feet wrenches
These SAE crows feet are big and cover some very large fasteners/bolt sizes. Not sure I will use all of them but there are some of the sizes that I do sometimes need due to limit access/space. Its always nice to have wrenches for tight spots when you really need them. The set is a pretty complete set and it does cover many larger common sized SAE sizes you might need it for. These don’t seem to be truly a professional grade wrench but they are decent enough to get you through the jobs that require them. The are flat black and not chromed or polished but that’s okay as long as they do the job! They seem strong and built decent to reasonable tolerances. They fit snug on my ratchets with no play. I put several of them through a pretty tough job using a 36″ breaker bar and I didn’t snap them so that was a good test. I think for the price of this set its a very good value simply because if you went out and bought a few different sized large crows feet wrenches you could easily spend more on those than this entire set cost. I say that’s a value. The extension bars are adequate but not professional grade IMO. They should hold up under limited use. I have not time tested the wrench set but I feel from the test I put several of them through was enough to show me they are okay for my needs. The only real issue I had with this set is the case – its cheap and the wrenches easily fall out of their respective slots, but it does keep them organized and a good way to store them when not in use. Would I get again, for the set price, yes I would.
Good large size set of crowfoot wrenches.
This review is for a set of 14 jumbo crowfoot wrenches in SAE sizes ranging from 1-1/16″ to 2″ by 1/16″ increments, except for the 1-9/16″ and 1-15/16″ sizes. The crowfoot wrenches provide various options for the way they are used. If you simply put one on the end of a breaker bar you have the approximate equivalent of an open and wrench. If you add an extension bar in between, you have the ability to reach into recesses where a standard open end wrench would not work. You also have the option of using these in conjunction with a ratchet or a torque wrench, with or without an extension bar. When using them on a torque wrench, you should position the centerline of the crow foot at a 90 angle to the centerline of the torque wrench. Doing so will help maintain the accuracy of your torque readings.
The listing says the set is made of “chrome vanadium steel with polished and chrome plated surface”, but the crowfoot wrenches have some type of unknown black coating. This was not a surprise, because it is apparent in the photos. However, the listing should be corrected. The coating may or may not inhibit rust well. Each of the crowfoot wrenches are about 1/2 inches thick. They have crisp edges with no bevel, and are not polished or finished well. The sizes are clearly marked. This set also includes both 6″ and 3″ by 1/2″ extensions. The extensions are chrome plated, nicely finished and probably made from vanadium steel as described. So, are the crowfoot wrenches actually made from chrome vanadium steel? That is unknown.
The set comes in a somewhat large plastic case with positions for each item. However, the crowfoot wrenches tend to fall out of their positions as you close the case. I found the only way to close it was to bring up both sides to a vertical position rather than tipping one side over upside down. Even then, pieces often fell out. Opening is the reverse procedure. I am considering simply storing them on an 8″ x 1/2″ machine bolt with a nut. If stacked with their labels all in the same direction, it would be easy enough to spin them around on the bolt to find the appropriate size. It would also take up much less space. The set weighs about 11 lbs.
Many combination wrench sets go up to either 15/16″, or 1-1/4″. In the past I have always had to resort to a large adjustable wrench or a pipe wrench above those sizes. This set extends my possibilities up to 2″, at a considerably lower cost than purchasing a large set of wrenches. Also, these crowfoot benches will reach into places where the large heads of those other wrenches would not fit. They are nice addition to my workshop.

The blue case holds the tools well. They seem rugged and like they should last. They are tools and are durable. The size is true. It’s nice to have these sizes come in a complete set and that makes it convenient. The crowfoot wrenches fit nicely in their specific spots in the case and the case holds them well. When you have them in the correct spot then the case closes smoothly and easily. These are a good value.
