Hope it saves my life when I need it!!!
The Kidde Smart Carbon Monoxide Detector provides comprehensive home air quality monitoring by tracking temperature, humidity, TVOCs, and carbon monoxide levels. Initial setup is a seamless process, utilizing Bluetooth for pairing before connecting the device to a home Wi-Fi network. Users should note that the system requires a 48-hour calibration period after installation to generate its first full air quality report. While the app effectively displays essential environmental data, the mold risk detection feature is restricted behind an annual subscription fee. Ultimately, it serves as a reliable and user-friendly monitoring tool, though the paywalled functionality may impact its total value for some owners.

Peace of mind where it matters mos
I picked this up specifically for my bird room, and honestly, it’s one of those purchases that just makes you feel better having it there. With birds, air quality is a huge deal, so I really like that this isn’t just a basic carbon monoxide detector, it also monitors indoor air quality. It’s constantly keeping an eye on things you can’t see or smell, which is exactly what you want in a space like that since carbon monoxide is completely odorless and dangerous even at low levels.
Setup was simple plug it in, connect it to WiFi, and you’re good to go, almost, it does take a couple days to calibrate. The app notifications are a big bonus too. If anything changes, you’re not relying on just being in the room to hear it.
The plug-in design with battery backup is another plus. It stays powered consistently but still works if the power goes out, which is important for something this critical. It’s one of those things you hope never has to do its job, but if it does, you want something reliable. For a bird room or really any living space, this feels like a smart upgrade in safety.

Excellent CO2 monitor and so much more.
I recently purchased the Kidde Smart Carbon Monoxide Detector & Indoor Air Quality Monitor (5th Edition), and it’s a convenient device that I genuinely feel better having in my home.

Installation was super simple; just plug it in and connect to Wi-Fi. The 2.4 GHz setup was smooth, and the app paired without any headaches. Within minutes, I was getting real time readings on my phone.

The real standout feature is the real time notifications. Instead of relying only on an audible alarm, I get alerts directly to my phone if CO levels change or if air quality drops. That’s huge, especially when I’m not home.

I didn’t expect to care much about indoor air quality, but it’s actually very useful. It gives me a better sense of my environment; helpful since I cook often, have 2 large dogs, and use chemical cleaning products.

The rotating plug is a small but thoughtful touch; it fits nicely regardless of outlet orientation.
The battery backup (AA) adds an extra layer of security during power outages. The 85 dB alarm is loud enough to grab attention immediately. The display is the only downside as it doesn’t seem to be illuminated and is a bit of a challenge to read without getting on my hands and knees (I have it plugged into a low outlet).

It feels solid and well-made, which is exactly what you want in a safety device. Kidde is a trusted brand and I also use their smoke detectors; this model lives up to that reputation.

If you want more than just a basic carbon monoxide detector, this is worth it. The smart features, reliable alerts, and added air quality monitoring make it feel like a modern upgrade to a household essential. Quite the value for my money.

Smart Peace of Mind While I Travel – Reliable CO & Air Quality Alerts Anywhere
I picked this up because I wanted smart functionality while I travel, and it’s been a solid upgrade from a standard detector. Being able to check in on my home (and even my RV setup) right from the app gives me a lot of peace of mind, especially when I’m away for a few days or longer.

The real-time notifications are the standout feature. It connects easily on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and sends instant alerts through the app, so I’m not just relying on hearing an alarm and I actually know what’s going on no matter where I am. The added air quality info like humidity and TVOC levels is a nice bonus too, especially since I like keeping an eye on overall air conditions, not just CO.

I also like that it uses low-level CO detection, which gives earlier warnings compared to older detectors. With family and pets in mind, that extra layer of safety matters. Setup was simple, just plug it in, pop in the AA backups, and you’re good to go. The rotating plug is a small detail but helps depending on outlet orientation.

Another plus is the smart home compatibility. I’ve got it tied into my Alexa setup, so alerts come through there as well. No subscription is required for the core features, which is a big win.

Overall, this is a great option if you want more than just a basic alarm. If you travel a lot like I do or just want remote visibility into your home’s air quality and safety, this one’s definitely worth it.
