    Composts right in the garden!
I like that this composter is placed right in the ground next to your plants. The device is sturdy and the lid seals well to keep creatures out of the composter. It’s very deep so it’s much easier to put in place before you plant your garden. I placed mine in a deep raised bed after the soil was already in place. I wasn’t able to get the composter as deep as possible because the soil underneath the raised bed is too compacted, but I don’t think this will compromise the function.
After placing some food scraps and a few garden worms in the device I waited a month before I checked the progress. I’m pleased with the speed of decomposition, faster than my above ground composter. This was all done in the winter (mild) in an area that considerably slows down the composting process above ground.

    Great solution for raccoon problems!
I’ve done a lot of trench composting in the past, but raccoons would constantly dig up whatever I buried. This in-ground composter has been a game-changer for keeping animals out of my kitchen scraps. The plastic feels tough and durable, and so far, none of the local wildlife has figured out how to twist the lid open. It’s large enough to handle a significant amount of organic waste, and I love that I can occasionally relocate it to fertilize different areas of the garden.

    Works well
This inground composter works very well. The holes or sleeves are big enough to let the worms in. You just have to make sure that you keep the lids close to avoid getting rodents or squirrels into the bin. I did notice that ants come around the composter so I keep cinnamon around it to keep the ants away from it.

Perfect little garden bed composting kit!
I ordered this worm composter because it was on my list of things to try in my garden this year. I’d seen some videos on Instagram where people had gotten creative with strainers, wire trash cans, etc. but ultimately this little kit came with everything I needed to make a durable, foolproof worm composter in my raised garden bed. I found it to be very thoughtfully packaged— you can see from my photo there was a little tool and gloves included as well as very detailed instructions for use. As someone new to gardening I have been a little daunted to try to figure it all out, and this product makes it very easy to understand and implement direct composting into my garden. I’m super excited to see how this turns out throughout the spring and summer as my garden evolves. It seems like the perfect size to hold a really decent amount of kitchen scraps without becoming a hotspot for rodents, and seems durable enough to be able to hopefully be able to use year after year. I also like how the upper part is beige so I can see what’s going on inside. I’m a visual learner and I like to be able to watch and learn about what’s going on in my garden. I like that I’ll be able to look inside and really see the level of decomposition in my compost and how well it is working. Glad I got this!!

    Larger than expected
I absolutely love this in-ground worm compost bin! I’ve been composting in my garden for a while and already have a few underground units, but this one really stands out.
First, definitely review the size before purchasing. This model is larger and taller than the other in-ground composters I already have installed. For me, that was actually a huge plus because it holds more material and seems to produce even more nutrient-rich compost. But if you are working with a very shallow bed or tight space, you will want to measure first so you know exactly what to expect.
Setup could not have been easier. I dug the hole, placed the bin in, and started adding kitchen scraps, shredded paper, and leaf litter. The sturdy polypropylene construction feels durable and well-made, and once it is buried, it blends seamlessly into the garden.
The twist-lock lid is fantastic. It keeps animals out and does a great job minimizing odors. Even in warm weather, everything stays contained and clean. The ventilation around the sides helps keep the compost properly aerated without attracting pests.
Within a few months, my worms were happily transforming scraps into rich, dark compost that my plants clearly appreciate. It feels great knowing I’m reducing waste and feeding my garden at the same time.
Just remember, earthworms are not included, so you will need to add your own. Once they are settled in, though, this bin becomes a quiet little underground engine working for your soil.
If you want a sturdy, wildlife-resistant, and beginner-friendly composting solution, this is a wonderful choice. My garden is thriving, and I couldn’t be happier.

Large worm composter makes it super easy to return nutrients straight to the soil
I have a big compost bin that does an effective job breaking down my kitchen scraps and yard trim. But it’s such a PITA to open it up and dig out the compost at the bottom that I almost never actually add that compost to my garden. This worm composter completely takes out the middle man (me) so that I can just throw my compost into it, and the worms will disperse the nutrients for me.
It’s a large plastic bin with big slits in the side for worms to get in and out. You bury it in your garden so only the top is showing, and you toss your compost into it. That’s it. Pretty much no upkeep once you get it set into the dirt, which is exactly what I need in my current season of life.

I haven’t had a chance to see how quickly it will break things down. It is a larger cavity than I was expecting, but I also know I can make a pretty large quantity of compost. I’m not expecting this to totally replace my larger bin, but any amount of nutrients I can get into my garden soil is a win for me!
