Quiet check near the hallway ligh
Back of the unit twists into place while standing near the hallway outlet, then it’s pressed flat against the wall pad without needing to line anything up twice. A quick press on the front button gives that short confirmation chirp, not loud enough to startle but enough to know it’s active, and after that it mostly just sits there unnoticed. I found myself glancing at it once or twice the first evening, then less as it blended into the wall. Later on, the app alert shows up during a quick test, phone buzzing while I’m in another room, which feels reassuring in a quiet way. The size is smaller than expected, so it doesn’t draw attention, though the first setup with the hub took a minute to figure out since it doesn’t connect like typical Wi-Fi devices. Once that part was done, it’s just there in the background, unchanged, a small round piece on the wall that you stop thinking about after passing by a few times.

Must have or purchase a "Thread Border Router" to use
This CO2 detector comes in a really small package which is nice. It also has a great 3M mounting system where you stick a plate with magnets on the wall and then a metal disk on the unit itself. This makes it easy to take it down off the wall if you need to quiet it, replace it, or in my case, to paint! The alarm itself is plenty loud. The problem for me is when I tried to set it up to activate the “Smart” feature, I found out that it only works if you have a “Thread Border Router”. I feel like the listing should say that you are going to have to buy another piece of electronics to make this work. Why it doesn’t hook up to your wifi network like everything else, I don’t know. So 1 star off for that as I am stuck using it as an expensive “dumb” Carbon Monoxide Detector instead of connected to an app on my phone via wifi. So overall its probably really good, but I cannot test it as I am not going to invest in a whole other network just so it can notify my phone.

Smart detector that works with Home Assista
I have had CO detectors in every home. We’re any of them able to detect CO? I don’t know and hope I never know. What I can say is that integration with Home Assistant was simple and I love that if that day ever comes, I will know exactly what room even if I am not at home. I should also mention that I loved that there are multiple mounting options in the box. Quality product that I would buy again.

    Compact Design with Strong Performance
I really appreciate the small, compact design of this carbon monoxide detector. It doesn’t take up much space and blends seamlessly into the room’s environment without looking out of place. Despite its small size, it features solid craftsmanship and feels sturdy and durable in the hand. I have used it both in my home and in my RV, and it has performed consistently and reliably across these different environments.

Its battery-powered design is incredibly convenient, meaning I never have to worry about power outages. It operates continuously and without interruption—a critical feature for any safety device. The alarm is loud enough to grab your attention, yet during everyday use, it isn’t overly sensitive to the point of triggering false alarms. It only sounds the alert when truly necessary, thereby effectively avoiding unnecessary disturbances. After using it, I can confidently say that this is a truly trustworthy product. It is portable, easy to install and set up, and its performance meets every expectation.

    smart home co detection setup
I live in a home where the kitchen sits close to the living room, so cooking smoke and gas stove use has always been a concern during daily meals. After setting up this detector, I do not keep checking it, yet the status light shows it stays online all the time. When frying or baking creates more smoke, it responds in a calm way without sudden alerts, which feels more stable than my older alarm that often reacted too easily in the kitchen. It connects with my home system through Matter over Thread, so if an abnormal situation happens it can trigger lights and send messages across devices. This type of response across rooms helps me react faster during unusual situations in the home. During different cooking methods like boiling frying and grilling it keeps a steady response without reacting too easily. Placement in the hallway near the kitchen entrance works well in my layout, and the indicator remains easy to read from a distance. It feels well suited to everyday kitchen activity and provides consistent awareness across the home without needing attention.

easy setup and works in tight spaces
On a recent RV trip, I used this carbon monoxide detector inside the small living space where meals are prepared and rest happens. The limited space makes air conditions more noticeable, so having continuous monitoring in the background feels important without adding distraction to daily movement inside the RV. While preparing simple meals on a gas stove, the detector stayed firmly in place with the magnetic attachment and did not require any adjustment. The Matter over Thread connection allowed it to link with my smart home hub, and I could view status updates on my phone whether I was inside the RV or walking a short distance outside. This was useful at different campsites where surroundings and ventilation conditions change from place to place. At night, the RV stays quiet and enclosed, and the device continues working without drawing attention. The electrochemical sensor runs steadily in the background while the heater operates for longer periods in colder weather. Seeing real time updates on the phone helped me understand what was happening inside the space even when I was resting outside the vehicle.

Worked with Home Assistant / Matter, simple to set up
Bought one, worked fine, bought a second, it added in just as easy via Matter with Home Assistant. I scripted so HA will announce testing or detection loudly over speakers. All good, simple, fast to set up, fast to respond to events (1-3 seconds).
