Product description

I would buy it again, it's definitely a good buy (so far).
So easy to install that I thought I missed a step on the wiring, the screen is amazing, apple carplay works like it should, I have nothing negative to say, I guess time will tell on how it holds up
Game Changer Upgrade for My JK Wrangler
I installed the SailingTravel radio in my JK Wrangler and honestly this is one of the best upgrades I’ve done to the Jeep.
It is legit plug and play. Everything connects exactly how it should, and the install is straightforward even if you’re not super technical. This is my first time ever installing a radio and took me about 1 hour start to finish.
The only part that requires a little know how is the backup camera wiring. For anyone installing it I recommend getting t-tap connectors (available on Amazon too) to make it very easy:
* Attach the red camera wire to the brown wire from the main connection that plugs into the back of the unit
* on the other end connect the other wire to the passenger-side reverse taillight wire
(I’ll try to post pics later)
Once that’s done, everything works perfectly.
The system itself is very user friendly, and I like that you can run both wired or wireless Apple CarPlay depending on your preference. It has Android connection too but I don’t have an Android to test it. The screen is very responsive, clean, and makes the interior feel way more modern.
Bottom line:
If you have a JK Wrangler and want to upgrade the radio stereo this is an easy to install modern upgrade that true is plug and play. I highly recommend.
I just finished installing this unit in my Jeep Wrangler JK. Overall it seems like a good Android head unit, but the instructions are honestly very confusing. Since the manual doesn’t explain some things well, here are a few things I figured out during installation.
What I like:
-The 10″ screen looks very good, nice clarity and sharp enough for apps and navigation.
-The backup camera is decent. Not amazing, but perfectly usable.
-It shows steering trajectory lines when you turn the wheel while reversing, which is helpful.
-Being Android-based, it’s fairly open and customizable.
Important installation notes (not explained well in the manual)
Reverse camera trigger wiring:
-On the camera side, the small red wire on the RCA cable needs to be connected to the positive of the reverse light, along with the red wire on the camera power cable.
-On the radio side, that same red wire needs to be connected to the brown wire in the 16-pin harness (third from the left, upper row when looking at the connector as it plugs in). Peel a section and wrap the red wire.
The manual explains this very poorly.
Mounting grille:
-The radio arrives already attached to the mounting grille, but the grille should actually be removed and installed in the dash first.
-Run all the cables, then snap the screen back on.
GPS antenna:
-It connects to the screw connector on the back of the unit.
-It just needs to be placed somewhere inside the dashboard.
External microphone:
-Included in the box.
-Call quality is decent but not exceptional. I believe the unit may also have an internal mic (not tested yet).
General use:
-It’s not super intuitive at first, but after a bit of exploring the menus it becomes easier.
-There is also a help/manual section inside the system, which is actually more useful than the printed instructions.
Overall, the hardware and screen quality are good, but the documentation is really poor. Once installed and updated though, it seems like a solid Android unit.
Installing this head unit felt like giving my vehicle a serious IQ upgrade. What used to be a basic radio is now a bright, responsive touchscreen that handles music, navigation, calls, and entertainment without breaking a sweat—or my patience.
The screen is sharp and colorful, with great visibility from different angles. Touch response is quick and accurate, so you’re not jabbing at it like you’re playing an arcade game from the ’90s. Everything feels smooth and modern, and switching between apps or features is easy and intuitive.
Wireless phone connectivity works reliably and connects quickly. Maps load fast, music streaming is seamless, and hands-free calling is clear. Voice commands actually respond like they’re listening, which is refreshing when you’re trying to keep your eyes on the road instead of arguing with your dashboard.
Sound quality is a noticeable improvement. Music sounds fuller and cleaner, and radio reception has been solid. Steering wheel controls continue to work as expected, which makes changing tracks or volume feel natural and distraction-free.
The backup camera display is clear and wide, making parking far less of a guessing game. Night visibility is good, and the view helps take some stress out of tight spots. It’s one of those features you didn’t know you needed until you have it.
Overall, this head unit completely modernizes the driving experience. It’s fast, functional, and genuinely enjoyable to use. My vehicle now feels smarter, more capable, and slightly judgmental when I play guilty-pleasure music—but that’s a fair trade.
