I have been eyeing these cutting boards for the longest time now and I am so very happy to now own them. I can’t believe how cute they are in person. As a book lover and a cooking lover these were so worth it. I love using wood cutting boards. Just like any other wood cutting board these do take care and precaution to make them last but these are worth the effort.
This set of cutting boards is super cool looking and very functional. Individually, they are not super heavy and the engraving in each “book” tells you exactly what they should be used for. The set together, however is very heavy and altogether very sturdy to stand alone on my countertop. This is a gorgeous set for a really good price, that would make a great housewarming present!
This is a great decor piece. I saw another review saying it smelled like chemicals. It does. It smells like wood stain that hasn’t cured. I opened the box and we placed them outside on a sunny day and when we brought them back in that night they had no smell at all.
That being said, I really don’t want to use these as functional cutting boards. But we will. Because I am impulsive. They are very nicely made, great construction, and they look like books. For the price I think this would be a lovely housewarming gift for any aesthetic. I love the idea of cutting boards looking like books between book ends.
Bought these cute cutting boards to get something different for kitchen and overall the looks and feel of the material is good however there were some defects noted when receiving the material. There were visible burn makes on the holder and one of the books from the manufacturing process that should have been cleaned. Besides the burn mark, the were obvious blade/teeth lines from where the material shifted in production. While it does not compromise the overall look or function of the boards, it does detract from their appearance when you can tell obvious defects. The material is lighter than they look, but holds up well to repeated use of cutting materials and cleans easily.
before this set, we’ve mostly used the plastic cutting boards that can go in the dishwasher. unfortunately, they stain easily and we use them a lot for cutting fruit. So I decided to give these a go. they look super cute on teh counter and could truly be mistake for a set of books. they wash up really easily by hand. they’re a good size. the price was a little steeper than I would’ve expected, but they are worth it to see in person. the wood is lovely and they’ve not scuffed up yet! they’re holding up well in a home where they get a lot of abuse.
