My toddlers have so much fun with this tent! They are huge Barbie fans and they play with it often. I love how easy it is to pop up and folds flat into itself. It takes up little space when stored away but can fit both of them when it’s open. Everything looks just as pictured and the material feels durable. Highly recommend for all Barbie lovers!

The reason I gave four stars instead of five is that it’s a bit small for multiple kids to play in at once, and the fabric can shift slightly if moved around a lot. Overall, it’s a convenient, entertaining play tent that sparks creativity and is perfect for solo or small group play.
Great small play tent for Barbie fans!
I purchased this Barbie Malibu pop up play tent for my 6 year old daughter. She’s relatively small for her size and absolutely loves Barbie, so this tent was a great fit and she was very excited to get it!
This Barbie Malibu pop up tent is a great, highly portable toy for any young girl who loves Barbie. The sides are very springy rods (it reminds me a lot of round style automotive windshield shades), which allow the entire tent to be collapsed and folded into a circle that’s about the size of a frisbee. When you release it, it instantly pops back into shape. Since it’s so lightweight, it’s easy for any younger child to move around and place where they want it.
The tent is made of very thin material that allows some light to filter through, ensuring that the inside is well illuminated. Even though the material is thin, it does retain some heat, so this is great to use in a colder climate, but might get a bit warm inside in a hot climate.
Size wise, this is definitely more appropriate for a child in the 3-6 year old range. My daughter fits inside comfortably and thinks it’s a great size, but she’s also using it as a ‘closet’ for clothing for her dolls. This is small enough to where it’s not a great space for multiple children in play in at once, but the tradeoff in size is that it is so portable.
Overall this is a very cute, fun play tent for a younger fan of Barbie. My daughter really loves it and has been using it quite a bit since she received it – just might not be the best for taller children.
A long, detailed & HONEST review. Here's everything you need to know-
ARRIVAL & UNBOXING
This tent arrived SUPER fast.
The sizable but lightweight cardboard box it came inside was branded (Sunny Days Entertainment, LLC) and labeled (Barbie Triangle Pop Up Tent).
Inside that box, there was a second box that was much smaller (roughly 16″ x 14″ x 2.5″). It was surrounded by A LOT of air pillows, which is great because the main box was in immaculate shape without a single scratch, flaw or dent. Considering this is the main box (with the tent inside), I appreciate the perfect condition, as it is ready to be gifted.
The main box is great!
It is glossy, colorful and has a photo on the front of girls playing in the tent. The box has the typical Barbie branding and “Malibu Pop-Up Tent” across the top. The box is sealed shut on both sides.
Inside the box, the tent is folded down into a circle that’s roughly 10.75″ in diameter and 1.5″ thick.
Also included is an instruction sheet that has illustrations showing how to open the tent and fold it back down (more on folding in a bit).
SPECS
When opened, the tent is a 27.25″ square at the bottom that tapers towards the top. It stands about 30.5″ tall. The entrance, which is a cut out flap (it doesn’t zip or close) is around 14.5″ wide and 22″ tall.
The tent is light-weight, so it’s very easy for both kids and adults to move.
I want to say this is a pretty standard sized, small pop up tent. I say standard/small because we have had other tents that are similar in size. It doesn’t take up a ton of space in a room, but it’s still large enough for 2 kiddos under 4yo to fit in comfortably. For one child under 5, this is a perfect size for a cozy little chill spot.
There’s 4 sides and a domed top and a flap entrance, but there’s no bottom on this tent. That’s nice because you can put the tent over items (like a small chair or cushion) and not have to worry about squeezing them through the flap.
This tent doesn’t have tabs on the corners or any type of steaks for securing it outside. Unless there is NO breeze outside at all or you sew on your own tabs and procure steaks to secure it, this is definitely better for inside play.
MATERIAL
The material of the tent is standard, silky polyester. It does make a super slight crinkle sound and the material will/does hold wrinkles a bit (if left folded for an extended period of time), but overall it’s quite nice. It’s not paper thin but it’s not thick, bulky or heavy either. It’s quite durable too. It can stand up to being ran into, knocked over (even into table corners) and it even stands up to our 180lb Cane Corso without pulling, snagging or running, BUT it can be damaged if it’s pierced with a sharp object (it’s not completely indestructible).
QUALITY & CONSTRUCTION
First, the graphics and colors of the material are pretty great! The colors are bright and pigmented- not faded or dull. The graphic is super clean and well done- no blurry spots, uneven color or wonky lines. It really is an exciting and welcoming little tent!
As far as the construction goes, the tent is well made and sturdy. All of the metal pieces that make up the frame and sides are concealed in a durable material (that’s different/thicker than the rest of the tent). The stitching is very clean, with no rogue threads, long thread ends, loose stitches or jumbles of stitches. The stitching is also very secure, so I don’t foresee this coming apart any time soon.
OPENING & CLOSING
The tent pretty much springs open once you start to ‘unfold’ the circle. It’s quick, but it’s not dangerous. I wouldn’t recommend opening the tent with anything that’s fragile and could fall over and break, but if it springs open next to a little one and hits them, it’s not going to hurt/cause pain. The opening is quick and easy.
Folding this back down onto a tidy little circle that’s easy to store is another story. While there are illustrated steps on the instructions, they really don’t show what happens in between those steps (so they aren’t that easy to understand). I got a little frustrated so I ended up on YouTube. There are a ton of videos showing how to fold these tents up. Once you see it done, it’s VERY simple to do yourself. Now that I know how to fold it (what it should feel like, what way the pieces need to go, etc) getting this folded down is super simple and takes about 5 seconds.
One thing that I feel could improve this tent would be straps that wrap around the tent once it’s folded down OR a case to put it in. When it’s folded correctly, it will stay in the compact circle well, however it doesn’t take much to get it to open up again. At first, I thought about keeping the box and storing it in there, but that’s a bit too big. I found that the elastic bands I keep around my sheet sets (that I got on this platform) fit around the folded tent perfect and keep it nice and secure. I do wish it came with a case or something though.
VALUE & FINAL THOUGHTS
This is definitely a fun and adorable tent that doesn’t take up a ton of space in a room, but still gives a child a comfy space of their own. It is well made with nice materials, so it should last a few years.
The recommended age is 3+. I think kids that are slightly younger would enjoy this too (that can walk). Due to the small/compact size though (it’s only 30.5″ tall), kids that are 5yo or over might not get the same thrill from this, as they wouldn’t be able to stand up inside. To get the most bang for your buck, I would recommend getting this when the kiddos are younger/smaller (over 2yo), so they can grow with it.
Seeing how this is branded and well made, I feel the $25 price tag is very reasonable. This is a great little pop up tent overall.
