Massive, two lane slide, with inflatable boards - everything you wanted as a kid
This is a quite massive slide, both in length and width, making it perfect for your kids to race or simply have their own lane to ride as much as they want.
The design is excellent for stability. You can add water to the central line, which adds weight to keep it grounded and provides a separation between the two lanes. The thoughtfulness shows in the details, including the two small bodyboards provided for easy and safe sliding. However, be advised that the bodyboards are really small; I wouldn’t expect a kid over 6 to be able to use them.
It’s important to read the instructions before setting this up, as some components need to be filled with water and others with air. I also noticed a slight hassle during inflation: the air input is smaller than standard, so the most common air pumps I have for inflatable toddler beds or pools didn’t work out of the box with any of my options. I could still inflate the slide, but it took some more effort.
Most importantly, make sure you have enough room in your yard. I have almost half an acre of land and only just had enough space on a flat spot on our lawn. Remember, it’s only meant to work on grass and flat surfaces, according to the instructions..
Big, durable, double-wide slide with solid sprinklers, but it drifts without stakes and needs space.
This thing is a serious upgrade from the slip and slides I grew up with. It’s double wide, so two people can race down it together, and it’s long enough that you’ll want to measure your yard before buying. The footprint is genuinely big, so this isn’t a casual purchase for a small lawn. The vinyl is thick and feels durable, and I have a hard time picturing it tearing under normal use.
The lack of stakes is a tradeoff I’m still weighing. Nothing pokes up to scrape a knee or catch a foot, which is a real plus around kids. The downside is that the slide drifts a bit during use, even when it’s full of water, and it shifts more once adults start taking runs at it. Expect to reposition it a few times during a long afternoon.
It’s heavy even empty, so plan ahead for storage. You’ll want a dry spot with enough room to stash it through the off season. The water hookup is straightforward and the built-in sprinklers put out enough spray to keep the whole length slick from start to finish.
The included body boards are a nice touch. They have a great grip spot at the top edge that makes them easy to hang onto at speed. My granddaughter gets noticeably more distance with the board than without, and it gives her the confidence to commit to a running belly flop instead of hesitating at the top.
Summer Slip and Slide Fu
Ordered this for the grandkidsand a 30ft heavy-duty slip and slide with bodyboards will surely provide for a fun, long-lasting and memorable pastime of a backyard summer activity at grandma and grandpa’s house. My rear yard is slightly slopped (which is good for less effort and more speed) and at 30 feet, it offers a long, high-speed ride, for two lanes of racingand the shark pattern design at the landing pad adds to the visual appeal and enjoyment. We had a freeze advisory overnightso you won’t be seeing any setup and working photos with this review.
The Pros: A key advantage to this slide is its durability due to the thick PVC construction (PVC thickness of 0.2 inches according to the product specifications, or about the thickness of a credit card). Like most slip and slides this one has built-in sprinklers providing full coverage, and there are 2 included bodyboards for racing. Safety is enhanced with the built-up landing pad and guard rails to help prevent any slide-off mishaps. I especially like the safety aspect of not having to use stakes as hold downs eliminating the hazards that go along with that installation practice. This one is suitable for kids ages 5-12 years old, less than 5′ tall and less than 110 lbs. Easy setup and installation (with the assistance of an air pump/compressor).
The Cons: You’ll need a large, open, flat lawn areaand there is always the possibility of some lawn damage with any slip and slides. The lawn area used will have to be inspected for any hazards such as rocks, sticks, glass, tree roots and etc. Decent water pressure is desired for optimal operation. Winter storage can be an issue for some (Thoroughly dry to prevent mold and mildew, Clean and inspect to remove any dirt, debris, or damage that could worsen over winter, Fold carefully to avoid sharp creases that could crack the PVC material in cold temperatures, and Store in a dry location). At a little over 14 pounds, it’s not light but it is manageable.
At $69.99 there are many more budget friendly slides available and this one falls more in the mid-range of slip and slidesbut this one is heavy-duty, 30′ in length and provides dual lanes with the included boogie boards.
