The three decker one remains compact while providing plenty of capacity. I would recommend the three decker over the two decker, even if you don’t need the capacity. With the larger one, you have room to expand your car collection, and you have space to add small structures. We like the natural wood finish. It can act as a blank canvas to add stickers or faux roads if you wish. Between the multiple decks and folding ramp, your child can certainly exercise their imaginations. When not part of the play action, it keeps the cars corralled. The wood is sturdy and, once constructed, produces a sturdy structure. My only nitpick is that my kit did not come with instructions. Once I sorted the parts and looked at the pictures on the seller’s page, I was able to get it assembled with relative ease. I used a rubber mallet over a towel to tap pieces in place, but it was not required. Given the design, ease of setup, wood quality, and smiles per miles, this car garage provides tangible and intangible value!
Toy car garage for play and storage
This 3 level car garage for toy cars is huge. It does arrive disassembled so you will need to put it together. Be careful pulling the pieces out of the box because one of the pieces that hold the ramps up (only parts that come preassembled) was loose in there with the screw sticking out of it and I didn’t see it before cutting my hand. Assembly was easy but the pieces do fit quite snug together. I was able to smack them in with the palm of my hand but a small rubber mallet would be easier (I was just being lazy and didn’t want to go get mine). The entire thing is crafted from thick plywood so it is strong. It comes completely raw which is great because you can fully customize it however you like or leave it as it is. Not only is this an excellent option for play but even better its storage for all these cars. The ramps can all be raised in the structure and secured leaving large flat surfaces on each level. It also includes a large ramp that hooks to the side of any level and folds up for storing when not in play. I’m excited to have my grandson over so he can actually put hands on it, he’s almost two and is quite hard on his toys but I know this one is going to be able to withstand his destructive side.
My daughter is on the spectrum, and uses this as both a garage and a dollhouse. Her Paw Patrol vehicles park and drive down the ramp, and the Paw Patrol figures use it like a house, as do the My Little Pony mini figures, Sprunkis, and Brainrot toys. So don’t get locked into thinking this thing only works with toy vehicles.
As far as assembly and durability, the instructions were not accurate for the model I received, but it was easy to figure out where the error is and it went together easily. The wood is unfinished so the edges are a little rough here and there, but it’s not a significant issue. An 18lb cat has camped out on top of it, and it’s had water spilled on it (wiped up quickly) when my daughter wanted the ramp to be a water slide: no damage.
Overall, this is a great open-ended toy that would be right at home in a Montessori classroom, or your playroom.
Fun Display and Storage Solution for all vehicles!
This display case is a great way to organize and showcase a growing Hot Wheels or Matchbox collection. Assembly was straightforward, and I like that it doubles as both storage and a play feature thanks to the foldable racing ramp. The wood construction feels sturdy, and it looks much nicer than having cars scattered around the room. A practical and attractive option for young collectors. I would say the wood is softer so I feel like it would break easily, other than that it’s perfect. It’s also a perfect blank canvas for kids to decorate on their own!
My godson has a LOT of toy cars, and until I got him this, he had to be very creative about where to store them in his room. He had some of them in “action poses” – posed as if they’d been caught in mid-police chase or Godzilla stomp – which others were lined up on the tops of the books on his bookshelves, etc.
I wasn’t sure he’d like this “garage” – kids don’t tend to be as excited about storage/organization items as adults do – but to my (and his mom’s) delight he loved it. His mom being far more crafty and energetic than I ever was, the very first thing they did was to spray-paint all the pieces – she let him choose the colors, of course – and let them dry while they prepared a space in his room. He helped her put it together, then decorated it with stickers and some kind of thin tape that she had a lot of. (Wasabi tape* or something? Idk, something Japanese.) He immediately cordoned off a “VIP” section for his “special cars” and then spent two hours deciding which ones those were, but she finally got him to fill it up, and it fits most of his collection.
He’s just about at the end of the stage where he’ll want to be actively playing with the cars, but the fact that she let him take such an active role in decorating and assembling it means that he’s much more engaged with it than he would be otherwise, and she says he loves showing it off to his friends as his garage “that he made all by himself.” We’ve decided not to tell lol.
Very sturdy, if slightly overpriced for being unfinished wood. Has the potential to spark creativity and ingenuity as well as regular play – and if well cared for, I can easily see these becoming the type of toy you pass down for a few generations.
*I have been informed that the correct term is WASHI tape but “wasabi tape” is funny so I’m leaving that for y’all to laugh at too.
