complete kit with smooth operation and lots of versatility
I flippin LOVE this thing! I was hesitant to not use a brand I recognized but gave this LithiCraft sander kit a try. I’m super happy with everything except the instructions and the variety. The kit is a great starter kit with 3″ and 4″ sanding discs and polisher heads, a standard air connection, and everything you need to get to work immediately.
There are two ways to vary the speed but the instructions are lacking so it’s important to know about both so you don’t think it’s underpowered. Underneath the handle area is a little lever that restricts airflow so it’s basically a limiter for the max speed of the sander. This is particularly useful for polishing where you don’t want it spinning too fast. How far you press the palm trigger also varies the speed so you can fine tune your work.
Having polishing and sanding both available (and included) and in 3″ and 4″ sizes is fantastic. The versatility of the kit is excellent.
There are three tiny caveats and none are worth deducting a star. First, as I said there’s no indicator in the instructions about what the little lever under then grip is. It’s easy to figure out but good instructions seem to be a thing of the past. Second, all the 3″ discs are one grit and all the 4″ are a different one so there’s no variety. It’s compatible with standard hook and loop discs so it’s not a problem but for getting started as soon as you get it, there’s a limitation. Finally, it’s not actually a caveat as much as a normal thing for this type of tool- it sucks down a LOT of air. If you have a small pancake compressor, it will never stop running. Ever.
For the cost, it’s hard to complain. The kit is a really good value and if you have some tool oil, you can get to work within five minutes of opening the box. I used a high-flow adapter instead of the included one and have no complaints. It’s harbor freight price but better quality than I’m used to from there.
Great multi-purpose orbital sander / buffer.
This is a great little tool. Currently using it for water sanding a trailer with aluminum skin. Definitely helps get the job done. Can’t wait to try it as a buffing tool.
