Feed once no extra access required!
These large 1.5gallon inner bee feeders are by far my favorite and go to every year. I have about 20 of these now and they are awesome. I do a HUGE batch of sugar water in the spring when new bees arrive for new hive installations. Whether you do a lot of hives or just a couple, it’s a nice time saver to load them up once and they are good to go until you are ready to add your next deep hive body. Then I just bump it up, refill it and good for another 4-5 weeks.

This unit takes up the space of two frames so it’s a bit of space but I think definitely worth it – refilling 10-20 hives is rather time consuming so being able to stay out of them and know my bees have plenty of food is peace of mind. I was not as much a fan of the single wide units because they ran out in 2-3 weeks. My opinion changed with these beast!

The plastic on these is a very sturdy and not brittle feel – I have no doubt these will hold up a long time (I have many over 3 years old now).

    A carefully designed feeder!
Meet the upgraded cap-and-ladder style feeder. This feeder is just made better:
*The tubes: The feeding ladders are fully grided and they reach the bottom of the tank so bees can get access to every bit of liquid. The floating islands really help prevent bees from making fatal mistakes when drinking.
*The capacity: 6.5 liters is by far larger than any feeder I have used. It fits my boxes well and still only takes up the space of ~1-2 frames.
*The wood plates: I can appreciate that the wood plates are wax-treated. While living in a humid location, I am aware that spilling syrup on wood is a quick recipe for mildew. Having the coating will help the feeders last longer. Plus, the wood plate makes the feeder look great in the box!

Premium Beekeeping Feeder – Great for Attracting Bees to the Garde
I use this premium beekeeping feeder to keep the bees coming back to my garden — the more the merrier! It holds plenty of syrup and feeds the bees reliably without leaking.
The sturdy construction is easy to fill and place near the garden. It’s simple to use and has quickly become a helpful way to support my local pollinators and encourage more visits to my flowers and vegetables.
A reliable, well-made feeder that does the job well. Highly recommend for backyard gardeners and beekeepers.

    Thoughtfully crafted
Bought one of these from TSC last year to go into the winter, I have to say, the quality of these are leaps and bounds higher then the single one from TSC. Solid wood top, solid molded inserts for the wholes, even comes with little foam floors so the bees are safer. You can tell this is from someone that actually has bees and put thought into them!

Good set of internal hive feeders, nicely provisioned for the price
Pretty much what you would expect for a drop in 2-frame hive feeder.

Plastic basin has ‘grooves’ molded inside. Not entirely sure if these are to help determine volume or just as ribs to help support the side walls. Wooden top board is nice, fits just perfectly without being too snug. Also, wood maintains the structural integrity of the feeder top than plastic ever could, which might deform on hot days, creating gaps for bees to enter the feeder and drown. Ensure the silicone rings are being used on all tabs to prevent the feeder from expanding and creating space to enter the feeder. If you run out of silicone rings, small screws can be used to secure the plastic walls to the wooden top, or use some wire or other tightly fitting restraints. Just avoid using ‘nothing’.

Always use the conical feeder bee ladder tubes, never use this feeder inside a hive without these. If bees access the feeder without this safeguard, expect to lose 1000’s of workers in your colony from getting into the syrup but never getting back out.

Pull the conical feeder ladder out, fill with syrup and replace the tube. Add the styrofoam floats to each so the bees have a raft in the conical tube to access syrup and then climb back up the tube and out.

This will replace 2 frames in a normal hive, so if you are running 8-frame hives, make sure you have enough brood frames to allow for laying, brood, pollen and honey stores – if you’re feeding 1:1, the queen will likely want to lay more and accounting for your brood expansion will be key to prevent swarming due to fast population growth.

What I like – really nicely built, drop-in solution for syrup and they hold a large amount of it without needing to revisit every day. This can mean fill it once for the week and refill on your weekly hive observations when you’re already suited up, anyway.

What I don’t like – hard to tell how much syrup is in the feeder without removing it and opening it up. Also, you have to suit up to get into the hive to check and fill, so there’s a need to always be protected, even just for a feeding.

Both good and bad: The silicone bands are super tight and with gloves on, it is very difficult to do without a thin, narrow tool such as a screwdriver. It also means the risk of breaking the bands is higher from opening/sealing each time using a tool.

This is a great set up!
A 2 pack. I love when they are a two pack!

They are constructed very well! It’s well built. Durable plastic with a wooden top. There are 2 boxes, 2 wooden tops, 4 feeders, some styrofoam floater pieces for the island, and some rubber pieces to strap the wood securely to the box.

I really like the construction of the box. It’s very lightweight, but easily set up and still durable. The feeders pop in and out really easily. They slide in from the top. It would be easy to refill the box. I like the wood on top as it seems like durable wood. The rubber bands are very secure and have lots of stretch left in them to last a long time. I think this will be a great addition to our bee boxes!
