Exactly the kind of tray you hope you never need
I did not buy this for an ice maker. I bought it for my portable A/C, which claims to drain outside but in practice occasionally decides my 75-year-old hardwood floors deserve a surprise rinse. Not ideal.
This tray is enough to catch those little failures before they become a whole situation. Think of it as training undies for misbehaving appliances.
The build quality is also genuinely good. The welds are clean, it feels solid, and it actually appears to be stainless steel, which already puts it ahead of a depressing number of products that use that term more as a suggestion than a fact.
Not an exciting purchase, but a very useful one if you own anything with a habit of occasionally peeing indoors. Just… ignore the price – it is worth it but I hate that it is worth it.
This stainless steel ice maker drain pan seems to really be made from solid stainless steel as described. It is heavy, sturdy and well-made with smooth, rounded edges. It is touted as leak-proof and corrosion resist which I have found to be true so far.
My main reason for purchasing this was to prevent water damage to my home and it fit the bill. I prefer the functionality of this drain pan over the silicone ones that I have used in the past. It just looks better and I am more confident in its protection, stability and durability.
The size is perfect for my needs and I am comforted in the quality of materials used. i will not have to replace this every season or every year like in the past.
Extremely sturdy.
We have a small fast food restaurant. One of the problems that we always have is leaking underneath our pop machines. There are various reasons for this, including overflow from the ice bin and clogs in the drain lines.We have been using large cookie sheets, but they really don’t do a great job, in part because they’re not deep enough and the sides are sloped. When I saw this product, I had to give it a try. This is really great. First of all, it’s heavy-duty. It weighs about twice as much as the cookie sheets that we have been using. The edges are perfectly vertical, which makes it easier to avoid spillage. The top edges are rolled over to avoid cuts.And they are large enough to cover all the area underneath the pop machine. This is simply a great idea if you have any type of equipment that sweats or leaks on your floor. There’s a rust-proof coating that looks durable. I think this is going to last a long time.
