Surprisingly good sound for a portable playe
I like to listen to CDs while driving in my truck, especially on longer trips. The CD player in the truck does not work but the stereo system has a plugin for an accessory. So this small portable CD player is now my truck CD player.

The sound is every bit as good as the original equipment. It has both Bluetooth capability and, as previously mentioned, you can plug into headphones or external speakers. It uses AA batteries, or runs off the truck power when plugged in. It’s easy to use. It has all the features of a normal CD player. You can literally tip it upside down and it still plays and doesn’t skip.

With its compact size, I tuck this into my console compartment, and I am able to drive and listen to a CD.

For the price and quality of sound, it can’t be beat.

Great way to listen to your CDs with Bluetooth headphones
I ordered this player specifically because it contains a Bluetooth transmitter. I have quite a few CDs and it has been really nice listening to the with this player using Bluetooth headphones. I am glad to have it.

The player is in the familiar CD player 6 inch diameter circular format. It almost feels metallic but is actually plastic. The top pops open to insert a CD, and for access to the battery case which takes two AA cells.

I like the appearance. It is very clean and functional. In particular the control buttons are in a straight line on the front panel and clearly labeled. They are slightly recessed and that will prevent accidental presses. Other controls (open release slider, hold slide switch, bass boost slide switch, and volume thumbwheel) are arranged around the side. The track number and timing are easy to see in the LCD display, but the tiny text in the LCD display is not easy to read. The controls around the case sides are labeled only with text impressions in the plastic and quite hard to read. In both cases it is necessary to rotate the device shine reflected light to read these items. The LCD display does not have a backlight and would have been improved with one to light only when needed. But those are only minor negatives and everything else was postive.

The player is versatile in accepting both standard CD format, MP3s, and other formats. A playback mode button selects one of 5 playback formats including intros and random tracks. I only tested conventional CDs and MP3s, and everything worked correctly. I am attaching a video which provides a view of the device and also includes the manual for further information. (Desired pages can be printed out by pausing the video on a page and doing a screen capture.)

In summary — Bluetooth is a big plus and this is a good CD player to have.

A good, modern portable CD player, but with a few poor engineering choices.
    Pros:
+Takes 2 standard AA batteries and can use rechargeables.
+Can be powered via standard USB-C.
+Has 40 second buffer for skip prevention.
+Compact size, not much larger than a CD.
    +Has Bluetooth 5.0 support.
    +Has MP3 support.
    +Has support for CDRs.
    +Has key lockout support.
+Has headphone and line out support.

    Neutral:
Has Bass Boost System that is similar to Mega Bass, but is not as good as older Japanese players from the 90’s.

    Cons:
    -Very small buttons.
-Battery compartment opens into the CD playback area and can potentially damage disc during playback.
-The CD must be removed to change out the batteries.
-Slow to recognize and read disc.
-Disc is difficult to remove once inserted.
-Next track button is very close to stop button, so stop button is easily pressed by accident.
    -No belt clip or lanyard.
    -No backlight.
    -Has a weak headphone amp.
    -Seems kind of fragile.
-Only supports MP3 and WMA, no support for FLAC, APE or WAV.
-The included earbuds are poor quality.

There is a lot I like about this player. I like that it uses standard AA batteries and can use rechargeable batteries. This is a much better way than having a built in rechargeable battery, because with most of those players, the player is useless once the built in battery goes bad. I also prefer AA batteries because, once you run down one set, you can just throw in another set without the need to stop and recharge an internal battery.

I also like the small, compact form factor that is not much larger than the CD itself, and I like that it can be powered from a standard USB-C connection.

That said, this player also has numerous drawbacks, the worst of which are a rather weak headphone amp that is really only good at powering small ear buds rather than full size headphones.

Even worse than this is the fact that the battery door opens into the CD play area, and if the door ever accidentally comes open while playing a CD, it could potentially destroy a rare and expensive CD. This makes this player useless for carrying around, and if it is not portable, then it has no real advantage over a larger player. As it is, I would only trust using this player with a backup CD and not an original.

Add to this, that once you insert a CD, it is very difficult to retrieve the CD from the player, unlike my vintage Japanese CD players from the 90’s.

The other problem that I found difficult to deal with is that the buttons are very small on this player, and I have rather large fingers. The Next button is right beside the Stop button, so if you are not very careful, you will hit the Stop button when you try to jump to the next track on the CD.

At its current selling price of $49.99, this is a pretty good value for this player, assuming you can work around its numerous design flaws.
