Perfect for Capturing Long Term Projects, Way More Useful Than I Expected
I always find things like time lapse videos so interesting, especially for construction progress, weather changes, plant growth, or just seeing how something evolves over time. It’s one of those things that seems simple, but having a camera specifically made for it makes a huge difference. When I first saw this, I honestly thought it was more for short term projects like painting a room or quick transformations. I didn’t realize it’s really designed for long term time lapse use. But after actually using it, this is so much cooler and more useful than I expected. My boyfriend is currently building a new substation, and this has turned out to be perfect for recording the entire progress of the job from start to finish.

The build quality is really nice. It feels durable and well made, which is important since a lot of what this is used for is outside. It comes with a protective waterproof housing that helps protect it from both damage and weather. It also comes with multiple mounting options, including a suction cup mount, a tube clamp mount, and even a nail stake style mount that you can use in the ground, on walls, or even tree trunks. So you really have a lot of flexibility with where and how you set it up. Once it’s in place, it feels secure and like it’s meant to stay there long term.

. It records in 4K and takes high resolution photos, and the wide angle lens captures a large area which is perfect for things like construction sites. It does a really good job showing progress over time in a way that’s clear and actually satisfying to watch back. You can also zoom in at 2x, 4x, or 6x if needed. Both the video and photos come out crisp and clear and honestly look really good for what this is.

What I really like is how the camera is designed to be simple once you understand it. There is a physical switch on the top with OFF, TEST, and ON, which is nice because you don’t have to mess with the camera position when turning it on or off. TEST mode lets you preview everything and get your framing right, and when you switch it to ON it gives you about a 10 second countdown before it starts recording so you have time to step out of the frame. When it is in the ON position, the screen actually turns off and you can’t change any settings until you switch it back to TEST mode, which makes sense for keeping everything locked in once it’s running.

The camera itself also has a flip up screen that tilts up about 90 degrees, which actually makes a big difference when you’re setting it up at different angles. There’s also a manual focus dial on the front that you twist to adjust the focus so you can make sure everything looks sharp depending on how far away your subject is. You can also play back and watch your recordings directly on the camera itself, which is nice if you want to quickly check footage without pulling anything off.

There are a lot of different modes, but they’re actually pretty straightforward:
    * Photo mode for still images
    * Video mode for normal recording
    * Timelapse photo and timelapse video, which automatically stitch everything into a finished video
    * Timer photo and timer video, where it records at set intervals

You can adjust how often it takes photos anywhere from every few seconds up to hours apart, which is really important depending on what you’re filming. There are also scheduling settings where you can pick specific days and times for it to run, which is really useful for long projects so you’re not wasting battery or storage when nothing is happening. You can also customize a lot more than I expected. You can choose video frame rates anywhere from 5FPS up to 30FPS, pick photo resolution from 2MP all the way up to 48MP, and choose video resolution from 720P, 1080P, 1296P, or full 4K. You can also choose clip length from 5 seconds up to 10 minutes, and even turn audio recording on or off if you want.

The WiFi app is honestly really helpful. It’s actually a known app with good ratings, so I didn’t feel weird downloading it. It connected to the camera immediately without any issues. You do need to be connected to the camera to control it or change any settings, but what’s nice about that is you don’t have to touch or move the camera at all once it’s set up. So you’re not messing up your angle or positioning just to adjust something. When connected, you can see a live view from the camera right on your phone, which is really cool. From that live view you can start recording, take photos, and even listen to audio.

One thing I did notice is when you start recording from the live view, it only records while you are actively in that live view mode. Also, any photos or videos taken through the app get saved to the app’s gallery under downloads, not directly onto the camera itself. You also can’t control the camera directly on the device while you’re actively using the app, everything is handled through the app at that point. If you want to view footage from your phone, you do need to be near the camera and have it powered on. It’s not something you can access remotely from far away, but once connected everything loads and works well.

Battery life is one of the biggest pros. This thing is built for long term use and can last a long time depending on your settings. My boyfriend has had this set up at the job site for an almost two weeks now and it’s just now getting low and still has around 8% left, which is really impressive. It also has two charging options, USB-C or DC, and it comes with both cords. It also supports micro SD cards up to 256GB, so you have plenty of storage. There is even a loop recording feature, which will overwrite older footage if the card gets full.

One thing to note is this is definitely more of a documentation style camera rather than something super customizable or cinematic. It’s really made for tracking progress like construction, outdoor projects, or long term changes. It automatically adds date, time, and temperature to the footage, which you can’t remove. So it leans more practical than creative. What I like most about this is how useful it’s actually been in real life. Being able to set this up and capture my boyfriend’s job and then watch that progress back is honestly really cool. It turns something that happens slowly over time into something you can actually see and appreciate.

At the current price of $139.99 (as of 4/4/26), I think this is a good value for what it is. It’s not a high end cinematic camera, but for documenting long term projects, it does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Overall, this is a really solid time lapse camera. It’s easy to use once you get it set up, works great for long term projects, and is perfect for capturing progress without having to constantly mess with it. I’ve been really happy with it and would definitely recommend it.

Cool gadget with long lasting battery life
Very cool gadget ! I use it for my construction site recording. It has long lasting battery life and it’s easy to set up. Dropped it a couple times it seemed sturdy. I now use the screw in mount option which is very suitable on construction sites.

Not exactly for creative endeavors, but it does work well for security.
Summary – Get this to secure a construction site, documentation, or something like that. Not for creative stuff. App actually works really well on the phone.

As a person who does creative timelapse with things like mirrorless cameras, action cameras, and everything in between I was pretty excited about testing this out. The idea that you can manually focus the camera means you not only could do things like sky timelapse, but also creative time lapse like maybe putting a piece of fruit out and watching ants dwindle it down. The cool news is yes, this camera is capable of doing that. The bad news is that the camera final quality seems to be meant more for documentation of a worksite as I could not find a way for the camera to not display the current temperature and date and time stamped into the video. Even using the bluetooth app, you can change resolution/framerate but you can’t remove that data.

Saying that, the image quality isn’t stellar but it’s really not that bad. Think Action camera circa early 2010’s. And being able to nail focus manually does allow some creative possibilities as long as you don’t mind cropping in a little to get rid of the date/time/temp/battery life info that the video this records displays. Exposure is dealt fully automatically, and the only thing you can adjust is exposure compensation bias. Can’t adjust white balance, or any other settings photo/video related such as Shutter speed, aperture, or ISO. You can select resolution of both photos and video though, and frame rate of said video up to 30fps.

Hardware wise, the camera comes with a lot of nice extras like mounts and a rain cover. The screen is laggy and looks old, but also looks like it’s meant to take abuse. Focusing on it isn’t wonderful, but it isn’t awful either. I’ve seen better screens on cheaper point and shoot cameras, but it’s okay enough to do the job.

The cell phone app is surprisingly very easy and robust, and thankfully doesn’t require any registration. There’s a QR code you can scan to get info to download, and it works just fine (at least for Android). Setup is super easy and it found the device immediately. Changing settings not only was easy, but it actually pulled the info from the camera that I had already manually set, so it shows me the app was doing 2 way communication with the device.

As mentioned this seems to be designed with construction or worksites in mind. There’s scheduling controls so the camera only records at set times. There’s also the ability to lock it with passwords and also run power to it so it’s running on more than just the battery.

Something I really like about this camera is the power button on top. Sounds silly, but basically it’s either OFF/Test/Start with test allowing you to put the settings you want in the camera, test it out if you want, and then when you are ready and sure it’s all you need then put the switch on On and it goes into a mode that gives 10 seconds to start so you can be sure to get out of the frame, and then starts recording (at least for video). Makes the whole setup a lot easier.

Overall, the camera would be great for someone who just needs to document their worksite to make sure things are done over time. Good for construction sites, or builds and want a cheap camera that will do a good enough job. While it still has some creative potential for those who are willing to work with it’s limitations, it would REALLY benefit and be amazing if the manufacturer allowed you to edit settings and also remove the time/date/temp stamps.
