This Solar Roof Ventilator Fan is awesome and super easy install. It looks sharp and it is angled to catch the sun at a maximum. It only operates when the sun is hitting it but that is when you need the exhaust. This worked out perfect for my shed. I keep lawnmower gas in there through the summer and I appreciate the air circulation to take care of any fumes. The air circulates in the heat of the day keeping down humidity levels also.
This solar fan is a good investment. It is well sealed and angled to keep the whisk the rain quickly away. I hope it remains waterproof without rust. It is a coated metal so I am hopeful Right now it gets an A+ for easy install- sharp looks and efficiency!
My attic had absolutely no ventilation and I really wasn’t up for major wiring; especially when it’s 100F and no ventilation. Figured there had to be a solar solution and then I found this. It was cheaper than the other designs and seems like it was a lot easier to install. As I soon found out, it was actually as it seems, which is hard to find these days. It’s also really light, and I figured it wasn’t going to work but as soon as I stepped outside, in the sunlight, the vent kicked on right away. The only downside to this is the vent hole that I needed to cut… why it have to be 4.53″?! Why couldn’t it have been 4″, 5″, or even 6″, so that I can use a proper hole saw on it?!

My 40′ shipping container was getting really hot in the afternoon sun. So I installed two of these facing the afternoon sun and I liked the results so much that I decided to get one more and now the temperature is about 15 to 18 degrees cooler in South Carolina HEAT! Time will tell if they hold up but for now very satisfied.
If you have a large space to vent you will probably need multiple. Don’t expect just one to cool your whole attic. Quality seems to be quite reasonable. One more thing to be aware of, for best installation you may want to get a 4 & 1/2″ hole saw to make installation easier.
The 2500 RPM motor on this thing is no joke. For a 25W solar-powered unit, the airflow it generates is genuinely impressive, and you can feel it pushing hot air out the moment the panel gets direct sunlight. The 12V monocrystalline panel is the right call here since mono panels convert light more efficiently than poly, which matters when you’re relying entirely on the sun to run the motor.
Size-wise, 13x13x3.5 inches is compact enough to fit a standard attic vent cutout without a lot of fuss. The black finish looks sharp and won’t stick out like a sore thumb on a dark roof. Color matches the listing photo accurately.
IP67 waterproofing is a real spec here, not a marketing exaggeration based on what I can see. The housing feels solid, seams are tight, and the panel connections are properly sealed. For something that lives outdoors year-round, that matters more than most buyers realize.
The install looks straightforward. Mounting hardware is included and the wiring between the panel and fan is pre-configured, so there’s no guesswork about polarity or wiring a controller.
For attic and shed ventilation, this is a practical, no-operating-cost solution that doesn’t need an electrician. Not gonna lie, for the price point, the build quality feels better than I expected for a solar accessory. Good fit for garages or RVs too, anywhere you want to dump heat without running a wire.
