Smart Bird Feeder Pole with Metal Squirrel Baffle

Smart Bird Feeder Pole with Metal Squirrel Baffle,92Inches Bird House Poles for Outdoors,1-Inch Dia Heavy-Duty Pole for Bird Feeder,Squirrel Proof Baffle with Stainless Steel Spring for Defense.

  • Reinforced Five-Prong Base—We use 2.3mm-thick triangular plates for auxiliary welding at points where traditional five-prong bases are prone to damage. Additionally, the four support prongs are made from 10mm solid steel rods (other brands use hollow steel tubes, which are prone to damage), effectively enhancing the stability and durability of the five-prong base.
  • Includes a Metal Squirrel Guard—The 19-inch-wide squirrel guard provides an extra-large protective area. Combined with a spring mechanism that allows for vertical sliding, the guard swings side-to-side while floating up and down, effectively preventing squirrels from approaching the feeder from the ground.
  • Heavy-Duty Feeding Pole—Constructed from 1-inch diameter, 1mm-thick-walled hardened steel tubing (most other brands use 0.5mm-thick tubing). Featuring a push-fit connection, the poles interlock up to 5 cm deep, significantly enhancing resistance to bending and breakage. Its exceptional load-bearing capacity easily withstands blizzards, winter snow accumulation, and the use of multiple bird feeders.
  • Upgraded Push-Fit Connection—This feeder uses a push-fit connection instead of a threaded one, making assembly faster and easier while avoiding common issues with threaded connections, such as rust or installation mismatches. When replacing birdseed, simply unscrew the screw and gently lift the feeder—a much quicker and easier process than unscrewing a threaded connection.
  • Universal Compatibility with Multiple Feeders—The feeder head features pre-drilled mounting holes at multiple positions. The feeder pole head is designed for Bird Buddy and more.If the mounting holes do not align, we also include a wooden board and wood screws to assist with installation, ensuring your feeder is securely mounted on our feeder stand.
  • The Perfect Gift—For bird lovers, the joy and satisfaction of feeding hungry birds is priceless. Therefore, this is not only a gift for family and friends but also a gift for wild birds.

Great quality, have a little patience when assembling it by yourself
Extremely good quality and nice thick metal to give this bird house standing pole a good solid foundation to set the bird house on. I have several bird feeders and houses around my house so, the tricky part for me, is to find a spot where it is away from buildings and trees to prevent the other critters in the yard from being able to jump to it. It’s a really good tall height and I’m very happy that it comes with a baffle to stop the squirrels, rats and snakes from climbing the pole. As far as assembly goes, it’s a bit awkward, trying to do it on my own, but I managed to do it. I got a bit frustrated with the design of the baffle holder. It has holes in it for different pole diameters and when I tried screwing it all together, trying to keep the pole in the middle, the short center screws were really the only ones keeping in against the pole and they kept slipping off center. I’m thinking about drilling a couple of holes in the center of the pole to hold and keep them in place. All in all, I’m very happy with the sturdiness and durability of it, I think, it just needs a better designed baffle holding bracket.

Good pole and baffle for smaller feeders
This is a fairly solid bird feeder pole system with a strong ground stake that includes a center spike and four prongs for stability. Once installed, it anchors well and feels secure.

The pole itself is made of sectional pieces that connect and tighten with wing screws. The fit between sections is tight, resulting in a rigid overall structure. While it’s designed to be compatible with a specific smart feeder, the mounting plate looks like it can be adapted for most feeder styles.
That said, despite the description of a high load-bearing capacity, I wouldn’t recommend it for anything other than smaller feeders. A heavier feeder near the upper end of capacity could make the setup prone to tipping in stronger winds.
The squirrel baffle is an interesting design. It consists of four metal pieces that form a collar around the pole and sit on a spring-loaded mechanism. The assembly process for the baffle can be a bit fiddly, particularly when aligning the flat plates around the round pole while tightening the hardware. Once installed, it functions as intended.
The spring-mounted baffle is designed to remain slightly unstable so that squirrels can’t get a stable grip and any attempt to climb or hold on causes movement that discourages them from continuing.
Overall, it’s a good system for lighter bird feeders with a thoughtfully designed squirrel guard, but it is not ideal for heavier or high-capacity feeders in exposed, windy locations.

A really well made bird feeder pole! And it is also squirrel proof!
I like this bird feeder pole a lot. I like how it’s also squirrel proof as well. The squirrels cannot get up to it!! I love that it’s also very tall.

The birds that like to eat higher in the grounds are at ease from feeding on this. It’s very sturdy, but that also depends on where you plant this.

I do see. It’s a bit expensive for my liking, though. I do like the quality of the metal. It has not bent or anything that’s negative, like paint chippings. I like the color of it as well. It’s really well made.

5 Stars Despite One Missing Screw Hole: Sturdy, Easy-to-Assemble, and Chew-Proof
This is a very sturdy, easy-to-assemble pole for nest boxes, smart feeders, or platform feeders. The only tool needed for the basic assembly is a Philips Head screwdriver and a pair of scissors or sharp knife for the spring retainers; if you plan to use the included wood block, you’ll likely want a power drill. It took me under 20 minutes to put the baffle and pole together by hand with a screwdriver to help tighten the wingnuts. Each pole section slides into the next (not threaded) and has a locking wingnut to hold them together. The sections add about 14-3/4″ each, once they are overlapped with the next. When everything is together, the above-ground portion of the pole is about 80-1/2″ with the feeder base on top. The portion that goes into the ground consists of a central tapered spike that is about 10-1/2″ long by 1″ at the top and two sets of smaller stabilizing spikes that can be turned at right angles to each other and are about 6″ long each.

The baffle is metal and comes in four sections that are joined with 3 screws and wingnuts per seam. There are 3 extra screws and wingnuts included in case any are lost. The baffle rests on a metal spring that comes bound by three zip ties. Take care when cutting the ties that you are controlling the spring by compressing it — pressed down against a tabletop works well — otherwise, it may spring open violently. When the pole is assembled, the spring sits on a metal clamp that consists of two L-shaped pieces that are attached to the pole with two long screws on either side of the pole and two locking screws that press against the pole on opposite sides (see photos). Make sure the flat part is on the top. It does not seem like two flat pieces of metal will hold against a round pole, but this is the second baffle of this type that I’ve received from this company, and my experience with this type of clamp is good: it holds very well once tight and is adaptable to various pole sizes. It takes some patience to tighten the long screws in turn while holding the center screw holes in line with the pole. The metal will bend but the two sides don’t have to touch to provide good hold. Luckily, the locking screws don’t have to be precisely in the center to work, and the bracket is hidden underneath the baffle. My video shows the baffle and spring temporarily installed on a smaller shepherd’s hook pole and different baffle support which also confirmed that the spring can be compressed and threaded around a simple hook, while the pole can be inserted through an open side of the baffle.

All the metal is well-covered with black coating and the 1″ poles are very strong. I did have one screw hole that was not punched through on a baffle seam, but it was the middle hole in the seam, so it didn’t affect he structure too much. I like that everything is metal so that squirrels can’t chew through the bracket or baffle, and the spring will probably make it impossible for squirrels to jump from our deck railing to the pole’s position which was already hard for them with a traditional baffle. To clean the box or feeder, the top section(s) of pole can be lifted off after loosening a thumb screw. The only issue I can foresee is dependent on what kind of ground you have where you want to install the pole because the center ground spike, although nicely pointed and tapered, is a lot to insert into hard or rocky soil.
