Solid value skid steer hitch – smart lightweight desig
This is a good value, and while there is some discrepancy as to the actual weight rating, as well as complaints regarding the fit, finish and design, so far it has worked well for me. If it breaks, I will update this listing. There seems to be a lot of this design style available, and if the proverbial “they” manage to perfect this design- which uses just one side of the skid steer boom, it sure beats the alternative hitch adapter that utilizes a complete skid steer mounting plate and weighs hundreds of pounds.
Skid steer trailer hitches like this one live in a tough spot: manufacturers love to advertise big numbers (5k/20k lbs) but real-world ratings vary wildly depending on boom leverage, pin angles, and machine model — that’s the most common complaint across the category. Fit and finish issues pop up too — slight wobble on some quick-tach systems, powder-coat that can chip at the weld points, and designs that either feel overbuilt and heavy or underbuilt and flexy. For the price it delivers honest utility without the usual 200-lb tax, making it one of the better value plays if you’re after a no-frills 2″ receiver that doesn’t dominate your loader’s capacity or storage space.

This GIYI skid steer hitch is an impressive quality attachment that is as solid as it is a brilliant idea! I am constantly moving things around on our property, and this will make it so much easier and more efficient than using the truck to do it. The skid steer can make turns and radiuses that my truck can’t. I can get in much tighter spaces with this beauty and I can’t say enough great things about it. For just under $130, it is worth its weight in gold around our place! It is very stout and quality built; sports a maximum tongue weight of 5,000 lbs. and maximum trailer towing weight of 20K (although the 2 5/16″ ball states 10K on it). I guess if you have a different ball, you could get away with 20K, but I have always been taught to use the weakest link weight limit in the tow system, and this hitch ball is max rated at 10K, not 20K. I removed one star for the incorrect listing information at 20K when clearly 10K is the maximum towing weight as sold in this set. It has 3 height adjustment setting on the bracket, and 3 different sized hitch balls (1 7/8″ – 2K max 2″ – 6K max, 2 5/16″ – 10K max) that are interchangeable quickly and without tools. I can move trailers, my log splitter, my sawmill, and so much more with this new heavy-duty attachment for my skid steer. It does have some weight to it, but still relatively easy to install and remove it. It is the only hitch I have that is bright yellow too, so it won’t be hard to find it in the barn when needed. This is a must have if you have a skid steer and multiple trailering pieces of equipment. I am thrilled with this quality hitch attachment, and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone!
