Watch it more than once!!
I think some people need to rewatch it a few times before leaving a review. There is so much you miss the first time; the only thing is I wish they would have had better writing for the dialogue at the end to explain the parasocial aspect of the motive, but other than that, so many insanely awesome moments. It’s not really Scream without you, Sidney! Neve brings the emotional weight to this franchise.
SCREAM 7 – LIVED UP TO THE HYPE!!!
THE MOVIE IS FILLED WITH A LOT OF EASTER EGGS IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THEM.
IT IS AWESOME THAT STU MACHER IS BACK (SORT OF) AS WELL AS SOME PAST GHOSTFACE VILLIANS.
I’VE WATCHED IT 3 TIMES AND KEEP CATCHING THINGS I MISSED THE FIRST TIME.
LET’S BE HONEST, SCREAM 5 WAS OKAY AND SCREAM 6 ABSOLUTELY SUCKED.
UNFORTUNATELY, MINDY AND CHAD ARE BACK IN SCREAM 7 AND THEY ARE COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY USELESS!!!
AS A SCREAM FAN, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND SCREAM 7.
Scream 7 — Review
Scream 7 somehow pulls off the impossible: it feels fresh, genuinely scary, and completely true to what made the franchise iconic in the first place. From the opening Airbnb sequence — clever, tense, and instantly unsettling — the movie grabs you and never loosens its grip. My heart was pounding the entire time.
What really sets this installment apart is how it taps into the anxiety of the moment, especially with the AI angle woven into the story. It adds a modern paranoia that feels disturbingly believable without losing the meta edge the series is known for. And the biggest question lingering afterward — Stu’s fate — is handled perfectly. Was it really him, or just another manipulation? The ambiguity makes it even better.
The kill sequences are some of the strongest in the entire franchise: inventive, brutal, and staged with real suspense instead of cheap shocks. The standout for me was the stage scene with the harness — an absolutely nerve-shredding set piece that had the whole theater holding its breath.
Sydney carries emotional weight beautifully here, grounding the chaos and making you genuinely care about every character. The legacy returns are handled creatively rather than nostalgically, especially Gale and the twins, who feel essential to the story instead of cameo additions.
This is easily the best Scream sequel — and that’s saying a lot because the bar for this series is already high. Smart, scary, emotional, and wildly entertaining.
Scream 7
Scream has always been my favorite franchise. I’m happy it came back around to focus on Sidney this time. I enjoyed the perspective of her dealing with Ghostface as a parent. I was a bit disappointed with the killers. That part fell flat but I get the angle they were playing with Stu. And YES it would have been a better story if it really was himjust sayin. Maybe that’s what they are building up to for next time? Idk
Nowhere near the worst (spoilers)
Solid Scream movie, NOWHERE near as bad as much of the hate it has been given. It’s not the best Scream movie, but it’s absolutely nowhere near the worst. It’s solidly somewhere right in the middle, a little worse over all than Scream 5, but far better than Scream 6.
Great kills, great chases, Ghost Face is very ominous and dark in this film, which is a good thing.
The story is actually good, but poorly executed at times. The acting is on par or slightly above average for any slasher film. Neve Campbell’s performance is strongest since Scream 2.
The plot armour is extremely strong, but nowhere near as strong as the plot armour in Scream 6. People who are complaining about the plot armour either didn’t watch Scream 6, which had more returning characters or they clearly have an agenda to say the plot armour was horrible, but not mention this about the previous installment as well.
The motive is the most relevant and refreshing of all the latest Scream movies, but the killer reveal isn’t set up or executed well. With that said. There hasn’t been a motive that was so original and topical than the motive of how parasocial many humans have become in the age of endless social media, YouTube and live streaming personalities.
People complaining about the story involving AI deep fakes either have never watched a Scream movie before or are lost. The Scream franchise has always been about putting emerging technology in their movies and this remains right on point in Scream 7. Some of the best examples are cell phones, voice changers, and cell cloning in Scream 1, caller ID, *69, computer bulletin board systems and instant msging in Scream 2, smart phones, social media networks, and live streaming in Scream 4, etc.
It’s definitely a much better movie than many are trying to claim. It’s worth a watch for any fan of slashers and worth a buy from any fan of the franchise.
This movie is really good I don’t what’s people’s problem with this movie I been a Scream fan for 30 years now. I have been to see all of them in the theaters and this one was ok to me it had everything I wanted to see in a Scream movie the great deaths the action and LOL’s it was all there and a great ending.
