Heavy duty but needs some work on the hay grate
For around $80, this feels like a decent value for this style of hay feeder. The feeder itself is fairly thick and sturdy, and overall it seems like it should hold up well for goats, sheep, or other livestock. It took me an hour to assemble alone. With help and proper tools vs the ones they give you I think it would be much quicker.

There are a few issues I noticed, though. The biggest one is that the grate that holds the hay is only attached at the top. That seems like a potential safety concern, but even beyond that, I think it’s definitely going to affect the lifespan of the feeder. I was able to “fix” mine by putting the bottom of the grate in front of the two bolts. It was a little difficult to get it reattached, and it ended up with a slight bend, but it does feel much more stable now.

I do appreciate that it comes with locking nuts for assembly, but goats being goats, I still think there’s a chance they may eventually figure out how to loosen or disassemble parts of it.

That said, the feeder itself is solid and sturdy enough that I think it’s worth dealing with a few issues as they come up. It’s not perfect, but for the price, I still think it’s a good buy.
