Way more powerful than expected!
I picked this up mostly for cooking, lighting charcoal, and campfires, has not disappointed!
First time firing it up, the flame is no joke. so you definitely want to be a little careful until you get used to it. The adjustment works well though—you can dial it down for lighter use or crank it up when you need the heat.
Build feels solid. It’s got a bit of weight to it and doesn’t feel cheap or flimsy. It screws onto a standard propane tank easily and stays secure no issues so far.
I’ve used it for searing and even just starting charcoal so far, and it handles both without any problem. It lights it up quickly and stays consistent, which is really all you want from something like this.
Only downside is it’s not exactly subtle—this thing is powerful, so if you’re expecting a small kitchen torch, this isn’t that. It’s more of a heavy-duty tool.
Overall, if you want something strong and versatile for cooking or outdoor use, this gets the job done. Just respect the flame and you’ll be good.

It feels well built and powerful, and works exactly as expected with consistent output.
This was an instant hit in our house. Let’s just say the “adult male children” were very excited, and suddenly everyone had ideas for how to use it. Only about 1% of those ideas were actually appropriate, which tells you everything you need to know about how fun and powerful this tool is.
Used properly, it is great for kitchen searing, outdoor use, and starting fires where appropriate. That said, given how appealing it is, this is one of those tools you may want to store safely when not in use, and I am not as worried about the younger children…its the old ones that make me worry!
Overall, this is a powerful, easy-to-use torch that performs well and adds versatility for outdoor tasks. Ideal for camping!

After using it to light charcoal and sear steak, I feel like I’ve got a good sense of what it does well and where it falls short. The power is definitely the biggest highlight, it gets hot fast and does the job quickly, and the ignition worked every time for me, which I always appreciate with something like this. That said, there are a few things I’d want to know before buying. It’s bigger and heavier than you might expect, so it feels more like a serious tool than a small kitchen gadget, which is great for outdoor cooking but maybe not ideal if you just want something for occasional indoor use. The flame is also really strong, so there’s a bit of a learning curve to avoid overdoing it and scorching your food. On top of that, while you can adjust the flame, it’s still pretty intense, so I wouldn’t suggest it for beginners unless you’re already comfortable using propane. I also wish the instructions gave a little more guidance on how to use it for different things like grilling versus kitchen use.

CONSTRUCTION:
The design of this torch is interesting because it looks a bit more realistic than it probably needs to be for a kitchen tool. However, the quality of the materials is good and it does not feel cheap.
WEIGHT AND BALANCE:
When paired with a small propane tank, it has some weight to it, but it isn’t overly heavy. It stands on a flat table perfectly, though you have to be careful not to bump it as it could be knocked over.
OPERATION:
Turning it on and operating it is very simple. You just open the knob slightly, pull the trigger, and it lights immediately. The self-lighting spark worked every time I tried it. You can adjust the knob to your desired heat level and then simply release the trigger to shut it off automatically.
VERDICT:
I plan to keep this by my gas grill to touch up the color on any meat I am cooking. It would also work well for making creme brulee. I do welding occasionally in cast iron should be preheated before welding. With the massive amount of heat that this puts out, that would be something this could do. Heating up a part so a bearing can slide in, paint removal, uses are nearly endless. ( be careful with paint fumes).
