Reminds me of my Mom's old hairdrye
When I ordered this I tried to explain to my roommate what it was, never did get there though, I even described it as like the old hairdryers. Once it came in she understood what I had been telling her, she wasn’t so sure that it would work so we tried it out. It worked great, but one word of experienced advice, buy some metal hangers, don’t use plastic ones.
I had to take the ones she used, yep plastic ones, and put them under a heat gun to straighten them out again.
Again, metal hangers, this does put out a fair bit of heat and it does it quickly. This thing works on the same principle as old hairdryers, a heat source, a inflammable bag and something damp.
We have one of those mini washers that spin clothes out nearly dry, so it went into the bag for an hour, and other than where a couple pieces fell it came out dried. It really does work quite well and would be a great value for a small home, but a wonderful gift for the student going off to school.
Beyond the hangers, the other complaints I have for this is the area for cord and bag storage should really be a bit larger, especially since a single half twist in the cord will prevent the lid from closing and locking in. Along with that thought, the clasps on the base are not very strong, in fact they seem to be more a matter of luck than design trying to close it. These are the points that lost you stars.
Anyway, beyond those 2 points this is a nice little unit that does it’s job quite well. Once you’re able to close it it becomes a very compact unit for storage, and I would say that’s it’s not a bad value as it stands, if they clear up those 2 points I think this would be a good value for the price.
Would I buy this again? Yes. Would I recommend it to others? Yes.
Very Cool Travel Dryer -
Ok, this is a super cool device. I was legit excited to open this up & check it out. I did wonder if it was just the dryer device & no bag? Based on the listing photos I couldn’t tell if the bag was part of it, or something you had to buy separately. So I was very happy to see when I opened this up, that the bag is in fact included. It’s part of the device in a way & actually folds up to be stored inside the dryer box when not in use. I will say, the bag material is pretty thin, definitely be very gentle when handling it. It is handy though, the way it folds up, along with the cord, inside the dryer box & then you snap the lid on to hold it all together. There’s a handle on top of the dryer box, which you would use to hang it from a hanger, hook, etc, while running the dryer. There’s also a handle inside the dryer, which is where you would hook hangers in with your clothing on them. There’s a few holes, like metal O ring type holes, on the very bottom of the bag. I would think this would prevent clothing from drying, or the bag inflating like a balloon, as those holes are going to let the warm air out? But I assume the holes are there for a reason, possibly to prevent the ballooning of the bag or for ventilation purposes. This is definitely a cool product for travel, as you could hand wash whatever you need in the sink & then hang them in this device to dry. That provides so much convenience, especially if you travel & you’re like me, with only a few favorite pieces of clothing you like to cycle through. I regularly go out of town to visit a friend & often need to wash clothing during the more extended stays. While she has laundry machines, I prefer not to use them, cause they smell weird. Same thing with the laundromat, it just weirds me out. So, having my own personal, travel friendly, clothes dryer to use, is like a dream come true! Overall, I like the product, I don’t think it’s the most durable or high quality travel dryer in existence, but I do think the lower price is consistent with the standard of quality you receive with this. Plus, it works, even if it takes a few hours, but that’s all that really matters!
Works For Damp Items
I ordered this ‘Portable Clothes Dryer for Small Spaces’ to use in our motorhome when we’re camping. My wife doesn’t like using the dryers in the campground laundry, because we rarely have enough to fill one. I figured this dryer might work for us.
I really like how compact this ‘Portable Clothes Dryer for Small Spaces’ stores away. You can literally fit it into a drawer if you wanted to. Closing the dryer up, though, is a bit of a challenge. You just have to take your time, and you’ll get it.
This ‘Portable Clothes Dryer for Small Spaces’ is really only good for damp items, though. I would not suggest putting anything ‘dripping wet’ into itthe dryer isn’t powerful enough for that. But for a piece of clothing that you’re just trying to get the wrinkles out of, it works great.
The construction of this ‘Portable Clothes Dryer for Small Spaces’ is decent. The plastic used for the blower housing is relatively thick. The motor operates smoothly and pretty quietly. The heat seems to be even as well.
The clothing bag, though, is quite thin. The seams are tightly sewn. The zippers are thin as well. I’m unsure how well it will hold up over time. It’s adequately big enough, though, to hold a shirt or a pair of slacks.
All in all, this ‘Portable Clothes Dryer for Small Spaces’ will work for us in the motorhome to dry out a damp shirt or two. It’s not powerful enough to do any more than that. It’s a decent design that is really space saving.
