    Better than expected
First of all, I feel like I should let it be known that I am like the book nook queen… I have done SO many of them… all different shapes and sizes. Im not saying this to brag, im just hoping that u will understand that u can trust my review.. I base it off of prior experience and comparisons. Enough of that.
SO – snoopy and Charles Lee Brown (hes grown now). Well, when I ordered this, I thought it was going to be painfully easy. It seemed something u are supposed to give to your kid to do. Obviously , I decided to give it a try anyway.
The first thing i noticed was that the wooD was thicker than I had expected. Not a big deal – its actually usually better tk have thicker wood. The overall structure of the project is more sturdy and strong. The second thing I noticed was the little books u have to make. These ones were bigger than usual. Actually, everything was just a little bit bigger than usual… like the funiture especially. This added to my suspicion that this may just be a kit for the kiddos.
So as easy as the instructions are to follow (its one of those big ol’ booklets) I realized that its definitly NOT a kit for kids. Atleast not on their own. Your gonna have to invest some 9f your time to sit there and do it with them. But I think that sounds amazing anyway. I dont have kids (trust me- its better that way) but it u did, omg i would LOVE to bond with them making book nooks like this one. Its perfect. The bigger pieces would fit better in their tiny little mysteriously sticky hands. Beautiful…
So yeah this actually turned out way better than i had thought. The pictures dont really do it justice… like, I don’t notice that the top of the roof displays these two see through comic strips. That light up, by the way. So cool

    Yin and Yang
I was frustrated while assembling it as a lot of the smaller pieces specifically including ladder stairs and tiny connectors were too thick for the slots in which they were supposed to fit. That’s really the only complaint that I have about the kit, but it was such a rough experience which ended up putting my fingertips through some major pains by the end of it that lasted through the next day that I felt it important to mention and be clear about.

Otherwise, pretty much everything else snapped into place, securely and without a struggle into the corresponding pieces. You’ll see in my pictures that I accidentally put the front panel on the opposite side it was meant to be on so the Woodstock sign is on the opposite side as it’s designed to be. It didn’t affect the fit nor where anything else was placed and was so tightly snapped in for a perfect fit that though I tried to safely wiggle it out to flip it over I wasn’t able to and didn’t want to cause any damage or anything like that to the rest of the nook so I kept it that way. I wanted to be clear about that, and it was the only mistake that I made.

There are a ton of little books. You layer some pieces with a connector that are meant to fit together in order to make these thicker books that look like multiples in a stack and then many more that are single books. All of the stickers came off easily from the sheet, affixed to the wood really easily and were a perfect fit.

The massive amount of books allowed for wiggle room in placement, so I decided on a slightly different design than the EXACT design that’s in the listing and instruction book cover picture, but it honestly doesn’t much matter as there’s no specific directions to tell you exactly which book goes where, so it allows you a little wiggle room for customization!

The little ‘item’ pieces that stand up by pushing into the wall shelf shelves fit in without a hitch and look really nice. The directions are primarily diagrams which are pretty straightforward. Assembly is broken up into chunks which makes it simple to pull out the pieces you need, assemble them to match the diagram and then put together. The cabinets were fun to put together and the design of the nook as a whole I think looks nice because everything compliments where it stands next to each other.

The little Charlie Brown comes with a little stand. The plants come with stickers for the pots and are simple to put together with ‘piece numbers’ labeled on the sheet with the paper plants which are not stickers and make a really nice little filled out plant. The bottom hole to fit the ladder was less deep than any other ‘hole’ and though it fit, it wasn’t a great fit. Thankfully, the top of the ladder that gently grasps over the top of one of the bookshelves was good enough that the ladder didn’t fall down.

Many of the pieces for the inside of the nook are on the thinner side. The walls being the thickest and simplest to put together. I think the roof tiles with the comic strips which are printed on a waxy paper look really great and make the design super unique and special.

The colors are super vibrant and there weren’t any printing irregularities on any of the pieces. The majority of the stickers that went on the bulletin board had peeling edges. I ended up using some of the included glue to make sure they were a flush fit with the wall.

If the plethora of small pieces that were considerably larger than the holes they corresponded with to attach to the nook weren’t awful to fit together, and the stickers on the back had a better grip, this would be a 5 star kit. That being said, I think the current list price of $59.99 is way too steep. I would place the value of the kit as a whole at about $45 tops.

    Soooo cute.
I struggled with the light not working through the wood panel so I left the sensor in the back door. The lamp was not very obvious based on pictures so I ended up using the spare part and threading it through the slits after the lamp was built. It was just the right amount of challenge, I’m looking forward to doing more.

    Easy and fast build...
Really easy to finish. I just intended to sticker all the books today, but ended up completing the entire thing. Took about 5hrs ish. The glue it comes with is great. It comes with “back-up” pieces which is nice if you need them.
