    My face vertical handheld
I’m not your typical gamer. I’m a 72 year old hag. I suck at games but love to play them. I can’t justify a multi hunnert monies retro console. And tronics have a tough life near me. So I’ve had a few. I really like this one. Sticks are good, screen is better than good, it feels good in my hands. Love it! I just blew through a few hours with it. Thanks to all!

I've got to love hate relationship with this uni
I have a love hate relationship with this handheld video game. I love games but I really like the older games especially for the super nintendo. One of the problems I have with this is that sometimes when I start it just freezes on that main start screen where you would actually scroll to choose your games, and the only way to get out of there because no keys will work is to do a reset on it. That can be pretty annoying. Another problem that I have is that game selection doesn’t always select the game that you know that you’ve chosen or even sometimes I’ll say things like Super Mario listed six times which obviously it isn’t and then you need to do another reboot just to get back to that screen again and hope it doesn’t stop. Once you do get into a game and you play though it’s totally fun, everything is responsive and it works really well. The screen is super Sharp which is surprising cuz it’s so small and the battery life is fantastic. Honestly if this did not do that weird thing with hanging up and just freezing it would be a really good value for the money considering what’s out there and what I’ve purchased already. I’ll keep it and I’ll keep using it and and maybe hopefully figure out what’s going on with that freezing but otherwise when you do get into a game and you start playing it’s really fun, very responsive, the sound is nice not too low not too high and all in all it’s pretty nice.

    Awesome Budget Bange
My endgame handheld is an Odin Portal Pro that never leaves my living room, but my everyday carry travel handheld that never leaves my work/ travel satchel is this one. The R36 Max2 is an awesome hand held at an awesome price. 22,000 games from 30 emulators/consoles right out of the box, really good controls, a great 4.5″screen that’s large and bright, long battery life, a travel case included, it’s easy to use, the included instructions are easy to follow and the thumbsticks are removable and interchangeable with the included joysticks as well as thumbsticks from several other hand helds. Couldn’t be any happier with this device, and its massive library of great games from Atari to PS1 run great. Buy with confidence, this is an awesome and affordable hand held that’s comfortable to hold and a blast to play. The only thing you won’t like is the “choice paralysis” that comes with having 22k games to choose from. I hope this review was helpful to you.

    An amazingly Fun Experience.
I have only had this unit for a couple days so I will see how long it holds up under use. My first one was a R36S and that has held up well over the last six or so months no problem. I decided to upgrade to the R36 Max 2 for the larger screen of 4.5 inches over the originals 3.5 inch one and I am very happy with it. For me this is the perfect size screen and a big improvement. It has many of the same games and emulators installed that the R36S has with one exception. No Atari home console games or emulators are available on the R36 Max 2. The 2600, 5200 and the 7800 are not represented as they are on the R36S system that I own. This is not a deal breaker however and the R36 Max has a few emulators and games that the other does not so not a big deal. Overall, I am loving it so far and it is in my opinion worth the price for sure. (It was cheaper than my R36S). I think that since I will need to upgrade again however due to the cheaply made handheld units that these are I can say that it was a great purchase.

    Most games work very well
I got this game console as a surprise for my son. We’ve been thinking about getting him one for years, but it hasn’t been a priority for him so we had not gone for it yet. It is full of so many games, both basic games and games from a lot of different systems. He’s been playing it a lot since we got it. The battery lasts for a few hours, but it just shuts off with no warning when it needs to be charged, so he is not able to save before it dies. You can see the battery charge, but only if you are outside of a game.

He’s been playing some N64 games with no issues, but we did notice that the Zelda games are very slow and not really playable because of it. I’m sure there are others too. There are so many games on this that we haven’t been able to check them all. Most of the ones we’ve tried have been great though. We did notice that with the PlayStation games we tried that used more than one disc on that system, only the first disc was included in the games on this console.

The controls on this are easy to manage if you are familiar with regular controllers. There’s an option to play some games with joysticks in place of the round control buttons, and there’s a stand to make the console sit flat on a table to make some traditional joystick arcade style games more realistic.

This console comes with a screen protector that I found to be easy to apply. The graphics on the screen are clear and we have no complaints about it. The price seems reasonable, and when I showed the one I ordered to my husband, he was familiar with the brand and told me he had previously considered an older version. I don’t expect these types of things to be perfect, and despite the minor issues we’ve had it has still gotten a lot of use and has been fun to play. Because of all of this I would still recommend it.
