High volume and high speed ai
When I first saw this product, I was frankly a little dismissive. I know how much of a headache using a leaf blower is in the yard and couldn’t imagine anyone finding that to be a good way to sweep a floor over a vacuum. Once I got it charged, though, I suddenly realized it was better at doing some things around the house that I’ve used a leaf blower or air compressor to do in the past – and this is quite a bit more economical than those options. The air speed coming off the wand is about 25mph in the home mode. When you switch it to outdoor mode the air speed is fast enough that it broke my anemometer. That would put it well into hurricane speed range. Some of the things I’ll use this for that I had used my leaf blower to do are things like removing dust and cobwebs from inside the hvac return grate. A vacuum doesn’t get that, nor does a duster wand – and the filter on my hvac collects the cobwebs downstream. Outside on my parents patio we had put artificial grass so that it wouldn’t be slippery when people had wet feet. That meant the only way to clean it really was to use a vacuum. This would work so much better for them to sweep behind the outside furniture and move the leaves back into the yard. While I’ve moved on from being dismissive about the product, I’m still a dismissive person in general. One thing I’m glad Shark didn’t make the mistake of is to include too many adapters. I’ve seen way too many blowers doing that and it ultimately means you end up with a bag full of never used adapters. They’ve included what you need – like an agitator at the end of a long tube, but they haven’t included one that would sit less distance from you than arms length. At that distance you’re frankly going to be better served with a brush anyhow. Same with a duster at arms length. Yes, that means the gun is easy enough to handle with one hand – leaving your other hand free to handle things within arms reach. Thinking about that I still remember well the day I first used canned air and had to connect that long tube and then that agitator brush at the end of it…or at least I will remember if anyone ever decides an agitator is a necessary accessory. I’m rather dismissive of something like that being at arms length.
I never realized how much I could blow in my house
This is so much better than I was expecting. It’s easy to assemble and breakdown to whatever size you prefer for each task. Most of the weight is in the handle, but it still has a good balance so it doesn’t cause any fatigue while using.
I initially ordered this BlastBoss to use outside. Yes, I have a leaf blower, but we have one spot in the driveway where dirt has settled and hardened that I had in mind when I ordered it and liked the broom and blower in one idea. This did great with clearing out the area, the broom lifted the hardened dirt while the blast of air blew in into the grass. I’ve also used this for blowing debris off the outside window trim, the threshold of the door, and my front porch. It’s powerful enough to clear stuff like a leaf blower, but because it’s so lightweight, it allows me to maneuver it and aim in areas I couldn’t before.
I had other ideas for it outside, but after reading the manual for the inside uses, I had to try it out there as well. There is a switch that you can toggle for indoor or outside uses. I can honestly say, I don’t think I’ve ever wanted/needed to bring a leaf blower in the house, but this is one of the most used inside appliances now. It is a lot quieter and doesn’t freak my dog out while I’m using it. I’ve used it for clearing out the dreaded cobwebs in the corners of my tall ceiling, and in lighting I couldn’t conveniently reach. It is great for clearing dirt and dust off baseboards so I can vacuum it later. Under my fridge and oven? All the dust bunnies are out. While the BlastBoss is powerful, I do like that I can control the speed with the trigger button so I can use it on more fragile items like my wood blinds. The only thing that could make this better is if it could suction up debris too, but given this makes cleaning easier and less time consuming, having to vacuum afterwards isn’t a big deal.
While I could find things in the house to blow clean all day long, please keep in mind it is definitely more fun for the person using it, than others around you. It’s no louder than a vacuum, but the household wasn’t as amused with being around debris going through the air or while they were watching tv.
This performs better than expected. The price point is less than I would have expected given the cost of other shark products I own, and would definitely order more if needed.
Good product but incomplete accessories received
We are happy with the product, just what we expected. However, we didn’t receive two of the accessories that were supposedly in the package:
– item B (Dusting Brush)
– item F (Agitator nozzle)
I was surprised at how lightweight, versatile, and powerful this little “stick” blower is. I use it to deal with the leaves and debris that accumulates on my front porch and entryway, as well as what gets tracked into the entryway and hall. Yup, I just open the front door, start at the other end of the hall, and dispatch all of that debris right back to where it came from. it has indoor/outdoor settings, as well as a “Turbo” mode, and a little brush on the end of it for hard surfaces ala your standard hard floor vacuum accessory. The difference is that here is a cutaway in the brush at the front of the device to constantly direct the airflow forward, so you not only get a god brushing and scrubbing effect, the debris constantly gets pushed forward. After cruising the hall, I keep going right out the door, all the way across the driveway to the gutter. I used to use a lawn blower to try and get the same results, however bringing that through the house, dragging a cord along with me (this blower is battery operated and I leave it charging just like a wall-mounted dust buster) met with mixed reviews and some high volume commentary from my wife. Problem solved! I seems that Shark has caught on to managing air flow that is beginning to rival Dyson. Good Job!
I love this for places a leaf blower is too unwieldy for.
I have a small business with a front entrance that faces a city street and the outdoor power is perfect to clear leaves/dust/bird droppings/etc from my entranceway and sidewalk without kicking up a bunch of dirt into the air or onto parked cars.
It’s also much quieter than a leaf blower so I can use it throughout the day without worrying about disturbing my neighbors.
The broom is stiff enough to dislodge stuck grime from the sidewalk and I can give it a quick blast to push everything off onto the curb.
I usually spend about 10 minutes sweeping my sidewalk and with this I don’t even spend 5 minutes now. It’s a great time saver for anywhere you just need a broom.
My only gripe is I wish it came with a wall mount.
Amazing Produc
So powerful, I can’t stop using it. Great for getting behind those hard to reach places. I literally walk around with this in one hand and my vacuum in the other.
So first, let’s all level set expectations. This is a handheld compact electric air blower. It’s not going to outperform a commercial leaf blower. But it’s extremely handy and great for little jobs. It’s especially nice for blowing off leaves from my deck and I just used it to blow the lint out of my dryer and it worked like a champ. I don’t use any of the nozzles or anything. Don’t regret buying it at all. Pair this up with a good handheld vacuum and cleaning up just got a lot easier.
This item is AMAZING! I can blow out my house, including dust bunnies, in minutes. I just open the doors and blow it out. It’s great for blow cleaning filters too. Blowing out my car is a total joy as well. I blow out my house, and blow off my front and back porch daily now. Battery life is great. This is the best present I’ve ever bought myself. It is lightweight and super simple to use. Worth every cent, and then some. Fast and more than strong enough for my needs, indoors and out.
Battery lasts quite awhile, powerful when needed, light and easy for a woman to use. Makes work work of breezeways, pool decks, garages and porches. Powerful enough to blast away cobwebs. Adjustable for use on electronics, etc. Love that it is cordless and it recharges quickly.
