This popcorn maker is pretty cool, it does work to make popcorn. You aren’t able to make a ton in a batch at a time. It’s like enough for a small snack. You could keep refilling it till you fill the bottom if you wanted. And when it’s not having a problem it’s really cool.
You don’t need oil, we have been popping just straight kernels and they’ve been popping just fine and all of them! We add butter and salt or sugar and other goodies after making them. It doesn’t come with a scoop so you’ll need to manhandle scooping the popcorn or get a scoop. We got little popcorn bags to go with this and they work just fine to scoop up the popcorn.
The popcorn pot needs to warm up before adding kernels. For best results! It does say it can take up to 5 minutes.
It doesn’t shut off on its own so there is a potential for a fire hazard, and I also noticed the pot doesn’t always stay plugged in completely so I have to double check it frequently as it came undone a little bit. So it’s a tiny bit annoying.
Everything comes apart for cleaning if you need to do that. You can easily wipe everything down as well. If your using no grease or anything it’s not really going to be necessary that often. Since we are sticking to just kernels it’s not going to be as much of an ordeal for us. But if stuff gets burned or anything it all easily come out and unplugs.
It is really easy to use, simply turn it on… Wait 5 minutes and put in a scoop of kernals. It does come with a measuring scoop for the kernals.
Putting it together is pretty easy to, it’s mostly altogether. You just have to put on the door and put in the heating pot which it just plugs in and sits in the slots in the top.
It comes with a cool booklet with ideas for making different types of popcorn. It also has all the user information and model number and stuff in it for reference.
This is my second magnovox home appliance, I’m starting to get familiar with this companies appliances and am finding them to be pretty decent options and they don’t seem to be overpriced. I’m pretty happy with this product overall.
Makes delicious popcorn and looks fun on the counte
This popcorn maker makes really delicious popcorn, and I had the best results by following the included instructions. In my case, that meant using about 2/3 tablespoon of light vegetable oil with 2 oz / 2/3 cup of popcorn kernels, and it turned out very well.
In terms of functionality, it does the main job well and has that fun retro movie-theater look that makes it nice for movie nights. Once you use the proper amount, it makes a good batch and the popcorn comes out tasty.
For safety, I think the important part is just using it the way the instructions say and not overloading it. It seems durable and safe for regular home use. Cleaning is not super easy because you do need to wipe the inside walls, but it is also not very difficult.
For value for money, I think it is a good option if you want a fun popcorn maker that actually makes tasty popcorn at home. Overall, this is a nice little machine with good performance, decent practicality, and very good results when used as directed.

I got this HOME, Popcorn Maker Machine Movie Theater/Cinema Style Popper with 2-Sided Serving Scoop. 2.5 Ounce, Red and I really like it. Even Though this says it is an air popper, it is made in a heated kettle. It does make some great popcorn. I was actually excited to learn it is a kettle maker. I am obsessed with movie theatre popcorn and I was able to get all the ingredients to mimic it at home! It.’s basically a fully functioning movie theater popcorn machine.
This is very well made and the perfect size for family movie nights. I had no problems with making a few batches and nothing was burned. I love the scent it emits when using and it is so easy to use. You just add the oil and kernels, turn it on, and let it does it’s thing. For the price, this is an amazing deal. I have been wanting one of these for a long time and I couldn’t justify the price. I would recommend this for sure!

Setup and use are very straightforward: measure your kernels with the included scoop, pour them into the 2.5 oz kettle, flip the switch, and a few minutes later you’ve got a fresh batch of popcorn spilling into the serving tray. The output is right in the sweet spot for a couple of people to share a bowl, and it’s easy to run backtoback batches if you’re hosting more.
Popping performance has been consistent, with very few unpopped kernels and a nice, light texture that works well whether you keep it simple with salt or go heavy on butter and seasoning. The builtin tray and 2sided scoop make serving simple and add to the “concession stand” feel that kids (and adults) get a kick out of.
Cleanup is much easier than a fullsize theater-style machine: the removable parts come off quickly, and a quick wipe-down is all it usually takes to get it ready for the next movie night. Between the compact footprint, fun presentation, and reliable performance, this has turned into a goto snack maker in our house and a solid upgrade over microwave bags.
