Makes Mowing More Comfortable and Feels Like a Worthwhile Upgrade
With a piece of equipment like this—a ride-on mower—you often end up sitting for extended periods, especially when the terrain isn’t perfectly level. The original seat tends to transmit vibrations directly to your body; sitting on it for too long can truly leave you with an aching back and general fatigue. Consequently, installing this suspension seat kit results in a remarkably noticeable improvement in comfort. It’s not just a trivial, “nice-to-have” modification; it’s an upgrade you can genuinely feel and appreciate during actual use. I find the built-in weight adjustment feature particularly practical. Since individuals of different body weights require varying levels of support and cushioning, being able to fine-tune the settings yourself ensures a more personalized and comfortable overall experience—neither too soft nor too firm. At the very least, it allows you to dial in a seating configuration that best suits your own preferences. I’m also quite fond of the smooth sliding rail mechanism; it makes adjusting the seat position forward or backward much more convenient, so you never have to settle for an awkward seating angle. This quick-adjustment design proves especially useful in households where the machine is shared by multiple users. All in all, the most satisfying aspect of this upgrade is that mowing is no longer the exhausting chore it used to be. The difference is particularly pronounced when traversing uneven ground or working for longer durations; your body isn’t constantly subjected to jarring vibrations, and you don’t feel nearly as fatigued once the job is done.
Makes the lawn mowing a little smoother.
I have an older IKON XL 52″ and wasn’t sure it would mount easily. I couldn’t use the seat frame original mount points, but after removing the seat bottom from the frame I found holes to use. The kit includes plenty of nuts and bolts to mount it. The instructions aren’t the greatest, but sufficient to understand how to install it. There are also plenty of holes pre drilled to find ones to match the seat and the old seat plate, and it includes a drill bit just in case you can’t find one. One thing I like about it is that I fit better on it as it raised the seat about two inches. Riding it around I am bumped less when going over rougher terrain so definitely more comfortable when moving 2+ acres. Overall I’m happy with the quality of the seat. If you look at what it costs extra to have this already on a zero turn, this is well worth the cost.

This suspension kit made a noticeable difference, though not quite the “night and day” upgrade some might expect. My yard is pretty bumpy, and mowing especially at higher speeds can get uncomfortable. After installing this, the ride is improved and less jarring, but it doesn’t replace what you’d get from a mower with a true built-in suspension system.
For context, I’m using this on a Hustler Raptor (not officially listed), but the seat and mounting setup are similar enough that I expected it to work – and it mostly does. Installation was fairly straightforward, though it took some trial and error to get everything lined up just right. Because the original seat mounts on top of the kit, it raises the seating position about 4–5 inches. It’s still comfortable, but there is a slight adjustment period with the control handles sitting a bit lower relative to your position.
The adjustable tension is one of the best features. It’s easy to dial in based on your weight, so it doesn’t bottom out or feel overly stiff.
The sliding rails are the one area that fell short for me. They function, but they’re quite stiff and not very smooth to adjust. That said, once you find your position, you likely won’t need to move them often. At some point, I may remove the sliders entirely and replace them with fixed spacers since for me the main purpose of the sliders is providing clearance for the suspension to operate.
Installation can be done with basic tools and doesn’t take long, but the combined seat and suspension assembly is fairly heavy and awkward to position. Having a second set of hands would definitely help.
Overall, this is a solid comfort upgrade. It won’t transform your mower into a full suspension machine, but it does take the edge off rough terrain. The components feel well-built and durable. Recommended if you go in with realistic expectations.
My back finally stops hurting after mowing
I installed this suspension kit on my Gravely zero-turn and the difference is night and day. If you have a bumpy yard like mine, you know how much those jolts can kill your lower back after an hour of seat time. This kit fits perfectly under the factory seat and the low profile design means I didn’t feel like I was sitting too high or losing my center of gravity on hills. The weight adjustment is a great feature because you can actually dial it in to your specific size so it doesn’t bottom out or feel too stiff. The slide rails move nice and smooth, making it easy to adjust the leg room whenever I need to. It feels very heavy duty and the install was straightforward with basic tools. For the price, this is the best comfort upgrade you can possibly give yourself if you are spending any significant amount of time on a mower. Shipping was incredibly fast too, which was a nice bonus since I wanted to get it on before the weekend mow.

Great product! Love the low profile seat. Easy to install and fits perfectly on my 0 turn Toro. Still keep a comfortable ride without being jacked up so high that it’s feels uncomfortable. Highly recommended.
