I purchased the SK05 Pro 2 as an everyday carry flashlight, and it has exceeded my expectations in both performance and versatility. The main beam is impressively bright and provides excellent visibility for everything from walking at night to working in dark areas. I really like having both the spotlight and floodlight options because they make the flashlight useful for a wide variety of tasks. The high-CRI sidelight is especially helpful when working on projects that require accurate color, and the RGB lighting is a fun bonus with practical signaling uses. The magnetic base is strong and allows me to attach the flashlight to metal surfaces, making hands-free work much more convenient. The dual replaceable batteries provide long runtimes, and I appreciate being able to recharge and swap batteries when needed. Despite packing so many features, the flashlight feels solid, well balanced, and comfortable to carry every day. The IP68-rated construction gives me confidence using it outdoors in wet conditions, and the overall build quality feels durable and well engineered. Overall, this is an outstanding EDC flashlight that combines brightness, flexibility, and premium construction into one reliable tool that I would gladly recommend. Highly Recommended!!!!
Loop Gear SK-05 Pro 2 MAOSuch an awesome flashlight!
I got really attached to another flashlight brandbut I bumped into a review on YTube about the Loop Gear SK-05 Pro 2. The reviewer spoke EXTREMELY high about this one to the point I was skeptical. I dug a little deeper, watched a ton of other reviews, and person after person raved about this light. Not only were the reviews phenomenal, the flashlight is pretty darn cool lookingnot gonna lie.
So I shelled out the cash and waited with bated breath. It’s even cooler than I expected. It fits in my XL hands perfectly. The MAO finish feels so nice (understatement). The off-white color is so good looking.
Some people will refer to this as a tactical light. IMO, this one is more of an EDC. IMO, a tactical flashlight has this same awesome exterior and material, while being a little more simplistic or “dumbed-down”. With the SK-05 Pro 2, there are too many buttons and modes for me to call this a tactical light. In a high pressure situation, you don’t want to be fumbling around to get to the mode you’re looking forand a 1/2 second counts. Same time, I’m not saying you have to be a brainiac to turn on this light, however.
Anyway, the dial is very nice. 4 different modes (Lock, Flood, Spot, Side Lamp). Three levels of brightness in each mode (not including TURBO). It’s a powerful flashlight. Turbo mode is crazy bright. The lamp in the side is much improved on this model, and definitely bright enough to light up a bedroom if the power goes out. Personally, all I need for that lamp on the side are the 3 levels of brightness, however, Loop Gear takes it the extra mile or12 (lol) and added on about 20 extra lights and modes for this side-lamp. So many, that come Christmas time, I could hang this up on the Xmas tree which could probably out-perform any other lights made to hang on a tree. Sheesh.
I live in earthquake country and I will keep this by my bed as I wait for “the big one”. I will take this with me when I take my doggies out for their last walk at night. If any coyotes decide my dogs are a snack, I’ll either knock their block off or just burn their eyes out of their skull with the
LOOP GEAR SK-05 PRO 2. For the next couple months I’ll take this flashlight everywhere because I can’t seem to let it out of my hand. I love it and recommend this one.
I have used many light over the years and there is nothing I enjoy using as much as the Loop Gear SK05 Pro 2! It has all the brightness you could need. The ability to easily select between flood, the spot, and the side light is fantastic with plenty of levels of lighting to select. There are to many lights with a UI that is so complex that you can’t enjoy them but is not the case here. I also love the auto lock out mode because I don’t have to worry about it getting bumped on when it is in my travel kit.
I have used the magnetic base several times already and it has been a huge benefit to free up a hand while working. One of the unsung features is the ability to use this as a battery pack. It is not much larger than battery packs of similar power density and for a light I already take with me it lets me leave one thing out of my bag.
The runtime has been awesome. It is truly all the light I can imagine needing!
I’m definitely a fan of loop gear on plenty of them so you may ask yourself should I get the new one or the old one? My suggestion is if you don’t own one, you can get the new one has more lumens not many more features than the old one if you own the old one, you do not need to upgrade to this one you’re only getting a little better switch and a few extra lumens but great construction. I love the color and and the coding on the flashlight really feel smooth in your hand you can change the batteries and you can use it as a charger, which is kind of very cool. It eliminates one extra carry pretty bright and the sidelights much brighter. This one you can actually use the side light as a cool light love looking of these lights again if you own one, maybe not wanna upgrade if you don’t own one the newer light is probably better than the older light for about the same price.
It is an amazing light. For sure it has the power and brightness. The only downside is the heat control. It gets Extremely HOT if use on high for long period of time (approximately 5mins). It’s almost unbearable to hold. It is quite heavy, but a damn solid build.
Let me start by saying that I’ve carried a flashlight every day for more than 40 years.
This is not the kind of light that disappears in your pocket, so keep that in mind. But if you’re already used to carrying a flashlight, or you want one close at hand for a quick grab, the LoopGear SK-05 Pro 2 is phenomenal.
I use a flashlight constantly in my work as an inspector, often walking into dark warehouses, schools, and commercial buildings where I have to provide all of my own light. The sustained output from both the flood and spot channels is more than sufficient for 99% of the jobs I encounter, even in complete darkness.
In real-world use, I consistently get over two hours of sustained, regulated high output from the flood channel. LoopGear rates this mode at around 1,000 lumens, but it honestly feels brighter. I own several lights that are also rated around 1,000 lumens, yet this one noticeably outperforms them in practical use thanks to its broad, even beam and excellent regulation.
The spot channel is equally impressive, giving me close to three hours of sustained output with excellent throw. Whether I’m inspecting high ceilings, looking across a large warehouse, or checking equipment from a distance, it has plenty of reach while maintaining useful brightness throughout the runtime.
And then there’s Turbo. When you need every bit of light you can get, the 5,000-lumen Turbo mode is simply incredible. It’s not something you’ll use continuously, but it’s perfect for scanning a large area, identifying something far away, or turning night into day for those brief moments when maximum output matters.
I get a realistic 60 seconds of turbo before thermal limitations.
The rotary control deserves special mention. It’s intuitive, easy to operate with one hand, and makes switching brightness levels or channels quick and effortless—even while wearing work gloves. It’s one of those features you don’t fully appreciate until you’ve used it for a while.
I’m also impressed by the thermal management. Rather than chasing huge lumen numbers for a few seconds before becoming too hot to hold, the SK-05 Pro 2 manages heat exceptionally well and settles into a sustained brightness that remains genuinely useful for hours. To me, that’s far more valuable than a flashlight that only looks impressive on a spec sheet.
What impresses me most is that this light doesn’t just produce impressive numbers—it performs where it matters. After carrying flashlights every day for over four decades, I’ve learned that sustained output, reliability, and usability are what separate a good flashlight from a great one. The LoopGear SK-05 Pro 2 checks all of those boxes.
If you’re looking for a dependable work light with excellent sustained performance, a thoughtfully designed interface, and an eye-popping 5,000-lumen Turbo when you need it, I can recommend this flashlight without hesitation.

This little light is perfect. The amount of functions, how bright it is even off of turbo mode, everything. The spotlight is super handy for work and the side light is amazing as well. The magnet is nice and strong and battery life is amazing.
