I’ve been using this talking pen and flash card set with my son, and it’s been a great learning tool.

I decided to try this out for my niece and nephew who are both in the age range of this toy. They are very curious and I thought this would be a good educational toy for them.
I am glad that I got this because it turned out to be really cute, fun and educational. The set included 55 double sided cards that were good quality material and printed nicely with words and colorful pictures. The art is very good and the colors are inviting to children. The cards are paper but have a coating on them and easy to clean by just wiping down with cloth. There are over a thousand different words to learn from animals and objects to plants, food and vehicles.
I really liked the little squirrel and how it knows what word its on and will say it. When it lands on the animals it makes the relevant animal sound. Several of the word categories also included a sound after the word was spoken. I thought it was easy enough to understand and the voice is a female sounding robot like woman. It does have volume controls and although it is not the best it is easy to understand. There is also a button that lets you record your own message and play it back. It is rechargeable with the included usb c cable. The battery will last for awhile. I have used it quite a bit with the kids and I have not had to charge it again. It was nearly fully charged when it arrived which was nice to be able to use it right away.
I did have one problem with it and that is the word for rooster because it uses the rooster picture with the word co*k and when you land on the co*k the squirrel will say co*k. I know in some cultures it is totally appropriate, but in my world it means something else and I don’t want my niece and nephew running around yelling co*k. I didn’t notice any other problem words.
My niece and nephew and I used this for a long time and they loved learning new words. Between the ages of 2-4 they are very excited to learn about new words and new things so I thought this was a great tool to teach them new things.
I would recommend this because I had a good experience with it and I thought it was cute and well made. It is not perfect but it still deserves five stars in my opinion. It really gets the kids engaged and when they are focused it is easier to teach them new things. It is travel friendly and would be a fun toy to bring on the road or on the plane as well.

Recording Feature: This is the best part! You can actually record your own voice. I’ve started recording myself saying the words or adding little funny sound effects, and she gets so excited when she hears “Mommy” talking back to her from the pen. It makes the learning feel way more personal.
Huge Variety: With 55 double-sided cards, there’s a ton of content. It covers everything from basic phonics to animals and everyday objects. Since it has over 1,000 words/sounds, we haven’t even made it through all of them yet, so it’s definitely going to grow with her.
