    These are very nice!
I like these open-ear sport headphones quite a bit!

Setup was straightforward. When I first connected them to my phone, the companion app for the JBL Endurance Pace was automatically suggested on my Android device (a Samsung Galaxy S24+). The app detected the headphones immediately and offered a firmware update, which installed without any trouble. The app itself feels polished and easy to navigate. It includes an equalizer and a few basic controls, though I ultimately preferred to leave the sound profile flat rather than using the EQ presets.

Sound quality is clear and crisp for a product in this category. These use an open-ear design with the drivers sitting just outside the ear canal rather than sealing inside it. That means the sound is naturally more airy and less isolated than traditional headphones. Mids and highs come through cleanly and speech is easy to understand. Bass is present but limited. That is simply the tradeoff with open-ear designs because there is no sealed chamber to build low frequency pressure. Most music still sounds balanced enough because the upper bass region around roughly 60 to 120 Hz is reproduced reasonably well if a bit softly, but deep bass is completely missing.

The equalizer in the app defaults to a bass-boosted preset that lifts the low mids. In my testing that actually reduced clarity without meaningfully improving bass. Turning the EQ off entirely gave the cleanest overall sound and is how I ended up using them.

Volume capability is adequate. On my phone about 60 percent volume is the upper limit of comfortable long term listening. That suggests the maximum output is already near safe listening levels, which makes sense for open-ear sport headphones designed to be used outdoors. Because your ears remain open to the environment, outside noise is always present and there can be a temptation to raise the volume, but in practice these get loud enough for running or walking while still allowing environmental awareness.

Durability also seems good so far. These carry an IP68 rating, which means they are designed to tolerate dust, sweat, and water exposure. For workout gear that is an important feature. The lightweight neckband frame also holds its shape well and stays comfortable during movement.

Charging is simple and uses standard 5 volt USB power. A charger or cable is not included, but at this point most people already have plenty of USB ports and adapters available, so that did not bother me.

Overall these feel like a straightforward mass market sport headphone done well. They are not trying to compete with high end audio gear, and they are not meant to replace closed headphones or a full speaker system. Instead they focus on convenience, comfort, and situational awareness during activity. Within that role they deliver clear sound, reliable connectivity, and solid durability. The design is somewhat barebones, but in this case that simplicity actually suits the product very well.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGood sound, comfortable and secure, but kind of barebones
Wanted to leave some early impressions of these. I think they are very close to what I would be looking for in an ideal open ear workout headphone.

Sound – Not going to wow anyone, but I think they are more than competent enough especially for open ear headphones. If you are already looking at this category you should likely be aware that they are going to rival IEMs or other in ears. But these definitely give a better and more full sound than something like bone conduction headphones without sacrificing the open ear feel or any awareness of your surroundings.

Controls – Buttons. Thats really the most important thing. Touch controls are annoying to use when working out. The buttons here should do everything needed and allow for easy volume control. There is no customization even in the app, but I dont think its really needed.

Fit – They are very lightweight and I have found them comfortable for the few exercise sessions I have done with them. Obviously these are not TWS in that they are connected by a band around the back. But that should also be a plus for working out. My biggest issue with the fit so far is that they are kind of floppy and not stiff. Thats probably a good thing for comfort, but the ear pieces also kind of move around on my ear a little bit as I work out. I have not been for a run with them yet due to the weather here, but that will be the test whether I will be able to feel them moving around a lot as I run. So far, hasnt been a real issue, but a concern.

A few other things to note:
    – This is an extremely barebones packaage. In the box you get the headphones. Thats it. No case or anything, no charging cable. Just a little booklet with some instructions. They charge with USB-C so no stupid proprietary connectors, and everyone likely already has chargers everywhere. A case would have been nice though, but if it keeps these from being priced higher, I guess thats fine.

    – IP68 rating was a big selling point for me. I have used a handful of others that were rated maybe IP55 or below. They all start to degrade or have issues over time. Hard to tell if its because of sweat or just that I use them while active. I sweat a lot while exercising so I want these to be able to hold up. To that point in the app, there is also a method remove excess water buildup if the sound starts to suffer, which can happen if water clogs some of the driver openings. Dont know how much it will be needed, but good that its something they are at least considering.

    – There i no audible battery level warning. On the shokz openfit 2 pro, when no audio is playing, you can hit one of the volume buttons and get the battery level spoken out to you. This is really nice both as a reminder that they are still on, but also a quick way to know if you need to charge them. As far as I can tell this does not exist with these. There is at least an LED indicator.

    – I had no issues pairing these to multiple devices, my phone, a chromecast, and my garmin watch.

    – I have not used them enough to fully judge battery life, but for my needs I imagine it will be more than enough.

    – Have not used them for any phone calls, but my expectation there are not super high. Not really intending to use these for any serious calls except when I am already outside.

Overall, I am happy with these. They sound better than similar bone conduction models. They have a better IP rating than others I have tried and they are very comfortable and secure on my head. Button controls work great, and should be the norm on these kind of headphones. Currently 4 stars because I have some concerns about whether they are going to bounce around be noticeable when wearing and that its a pretty barebones package overall. But for the price I would definitely recommend them so far.
