Soft, Vibrant, and Washable Outdoor Rug
Our very old home was built prior to air conditioning with a veranda around three sides for outdoor living. We use the area to socialize, share drinks, and occasionally dine while enjoying birdsong and cooling breezes. I wanted to create conversation areas within the large space with more intimacy, similar to interior rooms, and this rug is a great anchor for an outdoor seating arrangement.
I wasn’t sure what to expect from this rug since there is NO fiber description online to give me an idea of the texture of the rug other than “chenille”. After much searching, I discovered “plastic straw rug” in the details which, now that I have the rug, I know is not accurate. I own a HUGEAR plastic straw rug which is much more lightweight and coarse, almost like a woven plastic mat, and nothing like the soft texture of this rug underfoot.
This outdoor rug is made of 100% polyester which has a soft, slightly nubby, linen-like texture. The vibrant blue floral pattern is printed on one side and the back is a rubberized and non-skid. All of the edges are tightly finished with whipstitching. Due to the weight of the rug and the non-slip backing, our 5’X8′ rug does not move at all; there’s no sliding it for placement, it must be picked up and moved. However, it is not thick and certainly not a trip hazard when carrying snacks and drinks outside.
The price of this rug has been reduced considerably since we ordered it; we feel it is a good value at its current price. It’s easy to maintain and its soft texture is a pleasant departure from the plastic straw or jute of typical outdoor rugs. This HUGEAR rug adds a touch of luxury to our outdoor space that we associate more with indoor living; we are very happy with it.

This is a beautiful rug. You would think the jute would be rough to the touch and uncomfortable under barefeet, but this is not.
This rug is well-made and surprisingly very soft to the touch and under barefeet. I love the natural look of the jute fabric. The darker, cool-tone colors on the diamond accents are the perfect complement to the neutral color of the jute. It adds a nice pop of color without being over-the-top.
The bottom has a rubberized texture keeping it firm in place wherever you set it. The thickness is average less than 1/2 ”
This rug is versatile because it can be used indoors or outdoors.
They do include a QR code with care instructions. But it takes you to a YouTube channel that shows 9 different videos on how to fold and store their rugs of different sizes and 1 video that shows how to release the folds and wrinkles after removing the rug from its packaging. The video basically only shows them laying the rug flat for 24 hours via time lapse. I’ve had my rug open and flat for 6 days. The folds and wrinkles are still there…
Other than the folds and wrinkles, the rug itself is really nice.
