I was a bit hesitant about the price, but I guess it’s a premium product with the Sunturalux chips that are supposed to be better for your eyes. One thing to note is that it does require some assembly, but it wasn’t a big deal and took me about 10 minutes. If you have a glass desk, this clamp light might not be the best fit. All in all, I’m happy with this lamp but would give it a 4.5/5 star if I could just because the higher price and assembly.

High quality work lamp, pay attention to articulation options for your needs
I’d rate this lamp 4.5 stars, or 9 out of 10. The construction quality and light quality are nice, with value and the single-hinge neck being the main negatives.
Pros:
– There’s NO strobing/flickering that you often see with LEDs. (I’m referring to how, for some LEDs, you can wave your hand in the light and you’ll see your hand strobe like stop-motion animation. This lamp **doesn’t** have that weakness.)
– The color of the shades of white is very good. It doesn’t have excessive yellow or pink hues at the warm end, and at the cool end, it doesn’t feel excessively blue.
– The stepless dimming is smooth. At dim levels, the light doesn’t flicker.
– The neck doesn’t wobble too much. See the video of me tapping it gently.
– The height of the neck is good for most monitor setups that are within good ergonomics.
– The two wings on the side are fully articulated — you can fold it into one chunky lamp or unfold into a narrow strip. You can even fold them backwards.
– The head of the lamp is able to articulate such that you can angle the bright bulb out of your line of sight
Neutral:
– The neck hinge requires two hands to adjust finely. It errs toward being tight, which isn’t a bad thing.
– Inherent in any clamp lamp: you probably want to watch out for over-tightening the clamp if you are attaching it to a table made of weaker materials, such as honeycomb cardboard.
– The rubbery plastic grips on the clamp may be worth inspecting periodically to check if they’ve leached out sticky residue. This is a risk shared by all clamp lamps, and note that I haven’t actually noticed any residue.
Cons:
– The neck hinge might be hard to tighten if, in the future, it starts to become loose.
– The neck design has one hinge, so if you want it taller, the lamp head will need to move backward. Put another way, the base doesn’t hinge forward/backward.
– The price is a bit high, if you think of this as an LED light strip on a mount. However, the quality of the mount is solid, and the LEDs are good ones (no strobing, good color rendition).
– The power plug has the prongs on the brick, meaning that it is harder to fit into power strips compared to if they had an inline brick. The brick is fairly narrow, though, so it might not interfere if your power strip has adequate spacing.
– In case brands matter to you: The branding is only licensed by Honeywell, and isn’t designed by Honeywell. It is designed and manufactured by Huo Ming Technology in China.
Some measurements:
– Cable length is about 6ft, making it compatible with sit-stand desks, as long as the power connection is not too far to the side.
– Max desk thickness (as measured with the clamp) is about 2.25 inches (5.75 cm). This is slightly less than in the product image, because I’m accounting for the circular bottom part of the clamp.
– if your table has a “lip”, it should ideally be at least 1.75″ deep — that’s the distance from the jaw of the clamp to the presser (see picture)
