Handy Tool
I picked up this hitch-mounted trencher for my ATV/UTV tractor setup and it’s been a very handy tool for light trenching and ripping hard ground. The heavy-duty alloy steel construction feels solid, and the powder-coated finish is a nice touch for rust protection. Installation into a 2″ receiver is straightforward, and I really like that the shank height can be adjusted in 2″ increments so I can dial in the depth I need.
Once installed correctly—with the ripper teeth facing forward—it digs clean, narrow trenches that are perfect for things like shallow utility lines, fence rows, and garden projects. The carbide teeth bite into compacted soil better than I expected for the price, and having replaceable tips is a big plus for long-term use. It’s not a full-blown commercial trencher, but for farm, yard, and property maintenance it does exactly what I bought it for.
