A Beautiful, Well-Made Bag That Lives Up to the Brand
I’ve owned several HESHE bags and have been a loyal fan of the brand for years. This is my first messenger-style bag from them, and my first in one of their darker leather colorways.
What I ordered: Coffee color, medium size.
First impressions: Consistent with every other HESHE bag I’ve received — arrived sealed in a branded, durable plastic bag that keeps it protected during shipping. Inside the box, two shoulder straps: a boho-style strap with an attractive fabric pattern, and a thinner, more traditional longer strap. Both are well-made and attractive; which you reach for will come down to how you want to style the bag on a given day.
What works well:
* Size and organization. One of the roomier options in their smaller bag line. Deep enough for a phone, wallet, pen, lip gloss, and a few extras, with side pockets — one zippered — that make it easy to keep essentials accessible without the bag becoming a catch-all. For me, that balance is exactly right.
* Interior lining. Crushed microsuede — incredibly soft and not typical of most bags in this line. It genuinely elevates the feel of the bag. My only note is that it may be prone to marking or staining over time, so worth being mindful of what goes inside.
* Hardware and construction. The magnetic buckle is strong and secure. Zipper pulls glide smoothly, and the strap hardware is solidly built. I’ve carried my previous HESHE bag for several months and these details hold up — which is exactly why I keep coming back to the brand.
* The leather. Rich, lush, and smells like real leather when you open the box. The coffee color is deep and beautiful in person.
One wish: Floor feet on the bottom. A bag this nice deserves to be kept off high-traffic surfaces, and four small metal feet would go a long way toward protecting it.
At $64, this is an exceptional value for a genuine leather bag that looks, feels, and performs well above its price point. Versatile, comfortable to carry, and polished enough to earn compliments. If you’re looking for a quality leather crossbody that won’t break the bank, HESHE consistently delivers — and this bag is no exception.
Beautiful vintage-style leather bag — excellent quality and everyday versatility
I received this HESHE leather crossbody as part of the Vine program and it exceeded my expectations. The leather has a rich, slightly distressed finish that gives the bag a lovely vintage look without feeling overdone. Stitching and hardware feel solid — the flap closes securely and the buckles and clasps show no signs of looseness after daily use.
Layout and size are very practical: the main compartment fits my wallet, paperback, sunglasses case, and a small water bottle with room to spare. There’s an inner zip pocket that keeps keys and phone organized, and the detachable strap options (patterned wide strap and slimmer leather strap) make it easy to switch styles for errands or evenings out. The bag sits comfortably across the body and stays balanced even when moderately full.
Comfort and durability: the leather softened slightly with wear but hasn’t shown scuffs or stretching. The stitching along stress points remains intact after several weeks of frequent use. The closure is secure and the metal hardware resists tarnish so far.
Pros:
– Attractive vintage leather finish
– Practical interior layout with usable pockets
– Two strap options for different looks and comfort
– Sturdy construction and hardware
Cons:
– Slightly heavier than some fabric crossbodies (expected with leather)
– Inner lining is light colored and could show wear over long-term heavy use
Overall: 5/5 — a high-quality, stylish leather crossbody that’s versatile enough for daily use or travel. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a medium-sized leather bag with vintage character and solid construction.
Beautiful purse 4.5 stars
This is a beautiful purse that is actually made of real leather. You can tell it is not only from the feel of it, but also the smell, as it has a very strong leather smell with an acerbic chemical tinge. It is quite soft once you get the packaging out of it. The lining feels like suede, and is very soft and pleasant to touch. The description says it’s polyester, so if it is it’s a very good suede-like microfiber. The zippers operate smoothly, as does the snap that closes the outer flap. The metal hardware for the straps seem thick and sturdier than what you see in many purses. I did struggle with the clasps a bit when attaching the woven strap, but I have CTS which weakens my grip unfortunately. The woven strap itself is very well made, and very lovely, with no notable loose strands or raveling. The weave of it is a bit on the rougher side though, so I would caution using it on bare skin or very delicate fabrics. At its shipped length it sits comfortably on the shoulder, but can be adjusted.
It seems quite roomy inside despite the small size of the purse. The included inner pockets seem like they’ll be quite useful. The main part of the purse easily fits my 8.7″ tablet in its otterbox-like case, but the same cannot be said for my 10.2″ tablet in a similar case. So you won’t be able to fit a larger tablet in it unless it’s in a slim case or none at all. It’ll be a tight fit too. You can kind of fit a bare Switch 2 in it, but I honestly wouldn’t unless you have good protection for everything, plus it doesn’t leave much room for anything else. Overall for me, due to its smaller size, this seems like an errands-only sort of purse. For others who don’t have bulky electronics it’ll likely be a great purse.
When I requested it through vine it was showing a price of $89.99, which I thought was a bit high. Checking on the day that I received it, it is now $64.99 and very reasonably priced. If you can get it for $65 or less I’d definitely recommend it. It truly is a lovely purse that seems well made.
