Well worth the price
I have been using this glass pad for a few weeks and love it. I play a variety of different games and have had zero tracking problems. I do wish this was available in 12″ x 10 as 16″ x 12″ is slightly too large but that’s just me being picky or OCD I dunno LOL. It is on the fast side of pads and may take a bit of getting used to but worth it as I no longer have to feel like there are permanent crumbs on my mouse pad LOL ( I tend to drag my pinky finger when moving the mouse )
Really nice tempered glass mouse pad with a quality feel.
Although I go long stretches without playing videogames I’d consider myself an avid gamer. I’ve got over 100 hours in games like Fallout 4, Starfield and No Man’s Sky. My favorite mousepad is an aluminum one. I like the hard surface because it greatly reduces friction with the mouse. So when I came across this glass mouse pad I was excited to check it out.
The mouse pad is 2mm thick and measures 12.2″ x 16.1″. I thought I would like the size. But honestly, I think it takes up a little too much desk space. That being said I do really like the feel of the glass surface. It’s very smooth and provides minimal friction. I would say less friction than even my aluminum mouse pad. The mouse pad also has a rubber base. And it does a great job of keeping the mouse pad in place.
Overall I would say that this is a really nice tempered glass mouse pad. Your mouse will effortlessly glide over it with very little friction. But if you’re like me and don’t need/enjoy a massive mouse pad on your desk you may want to get one with a smaller footprint. But this definitely seems like a well made product and I enjoyed reviewing it.

Red Samurai’s glass mouse pad has a premium feel although the price is not high compared to other glass mouse pads. The texture is nice, but I think it is more intended for aesthetics than gaming performance. After you take the protective plastic off, it is matte, but very smooth. It’s a specialized device and more expensive than your usual mouse pad. If you play games with your mouse at low DPI in order to make precise movements, but then you need to move broadly and suddenly without adjusting your DPI, this mousepad makes sense. It is very large. There are no catches. My mouse moves very smoothly. The edges are rounded and the corners are even smoother. There is no discomfort from my forearm resting against the edge of the mouse pad. Because the weather is cold right now, the pad feels cold. However, I haven’t had any trouble with forearm sticking.
It’s really a bit larger than I need. It takes up a lot of my table. However, perhaps this is blasphemous, but it also makes a nice drink coaster. I can put a drink on the corner without getting my table wet, but I still have plenty of room to move the mouse. Of course, if I do spill something on the mouse pad, this would interfere with the smoothness of the surface, but it does clean up very easily. Worse might be if the cup scratches the surface, which would interfere with mouse travel.
Although 2mm looks thicker than I imagined when I ordered it, this is still a fragile piece of equipment. It is glass after all. It came well packaged and I plan to keep the package when I move the mouse pad around. It would be nice if it had some protective cover other than the box which is kind of plain.
It came with a microfiber cloth which is redundant. I feel like I have a million of these.
It also came with some small red dots, replacement skates to raise the mouse a bit and avoid the impact of static and dust, and for this particular pad, perhaps more importantly to avoid damaging the surface aesthetic. It’s a nice plus that it came with these, although the package includes no documentation of what they’re for. I guess if you use a glass pad you know.

I decided to try this Red Samurai Glass Mousepad, and frankly, I was a little skeptical about using glass as a surface.

First Impressions & The “Feel”
The first thing you notice is the texture. The “Ultra-Smooth AF” description isn’t lying. Even though I’m currently using a Kensington trackball (which stays stationary), the surface feels incredibly premium under my wrist.
* The Glide: When I do switch to a standard mouse, it feels like playing air hockey. There is zero friction.
* The Temperature: A heads-up—it’s glass, so it feels cool to the touch. It’s actually refreshing, but it might surprise you on a cold morning.
Why It Works for My Setup
I have a mix of productivity tools (Mac keyboard) and tech clutter. Here is why this pad earns its spot on the desk:
* It’s Super Thin (2mm): It doesn’t feel like a thick slab. My keyboard sits on it partially (as shown in the pic) and it doesn’t wobble because the glass is so rigid and thin.
* Hygiene Helper: Look, I eat and drink at my desk. With cloth pads, a coffee spill is a disaster. With this? I just Windex it and it looks brand new.
* Rock Solid: The non-slip base is legit. I have heavy hard drives and cables dragging around it, but the pad itself doesn’t slide an inch.
The Aesthetic
The “Red Samurai” logo in the corner is a nice touch. It gives it a bit of “gamer” flair without being obnoxious or covered in RGB lights. It looks sharp against the black surface and blends in well with my darker desk setup.
The Verdict
If you are tired of cloth pads getting fraying edges or getting dirty, this is a massive upgrade. It feels indestructible. Whether you are gaming or just trying to keep your workflow smooth while navigating a sea of external hard drives, this is a solid buy.
