works as intended
Used this kit as the main power run in a two-amp setup feeding a distribution block (100W x4 channel + 1200W mono), and overall it did what I needed it to do.
The 0 gauge run is easy enough to route for its size and the insulation feels durable. It handled the load without any obvious voltage drop issues in my setup, especially since it’s only being used as the main feed before splitting at the distro block. For that kind of use, it’s a practical and cost-effective option.
That said, this is CCA (copper-clad aluminum), not pure copper. That’s not a dealbreaker, but it does mean you’re getting higher resistance compared to OFC wire. For moderate systems like mine, it’s fine, but if you’re pushing serious power or planning future upgrades, you may want to step up to true OFC wiring.
I didn’t use the included lugs or terminals. I’m an industrial electrician and already have access to higher-quality lugs and the proper tools to crimp them, so I can’t really speak to the quality of the hardware that comes in the kit. I’d recommend at least checking those closely if you plan to use them.
The fuse holder does the job, but overall this is still a budget-oriented kit. It works well when used appropriately, especially as a main power run into a distribution setup like mine.
Overall, this is a good option for basic to mid-level installs if you understand what you’re getting. Just don’t expect it to perform like a premium OFC setup and you’ll be satisfied.
Good value and complete kit to wire up an amplifier.
Over +30 years of wiring 12v electronics in vehicles I’ve done it a lot of ways. Sometimes I didn’t use quite the right size cables or used some unshielded RCA cables or had to hack together wires.
This kit comes with everything you need, I went with the heavy 0 gauge wire since I’m running a fairly large amp. The wire is copper coated aluminum (CCA) but it is perfectly fine to use as long as you are taking into consideration the amp carrying ability of CCA vs pure copper. With the price of copper today, this makes a lot more financial sense.
The RCA cables are decent, they are smooth and will be easy to run through carpet, around trim etc.
The fuse holder feels solid, it is decent quality and has good contacts and feels safe.
The price for this kit is decent, with what it includes it is a buy compared to picking up bulk lengths of each size of wire.
Decent value for 40 bucks.
I like the zero gauge amp install kit for 40 bucks. The wiring seems pretty thick with multiple strands of copper clad aluminum. That’s about all you’ll get in this price range these days at zero gauge. Like other CCA it’s very flexible and does carry current pretty well.. most people should have no issue using this for install. I didn’t love the negative color on the cable. It looks like a weird bronze or brown not black. If you’re worried about that for installing this, probably isn’t your product. I thought the RCA’s were pretty decent quality with a woven type insulated jacket. Also the speaker wire quality was decent. For 40 bucks I can recommend it. There are better install kit out there, but you will definitely pay more for those.
