Looks great, nice size, but scalloped edges aren’t ideal for every use
This is a good-looking outdoor rug and the 8×10 size works really well for covering a decent area like a porch or patio. The material feels durable, and being waterproof is a big plus—easy to rinse off and keep clean without any hassle.
It’s lightweight and easy to move around, and the foldable design makes storage simple if you’re not leaving it out all the time. The reversible pattern is a nice bonus too.
The only downside, and it depends on your application, is the scalloped edge design. It looks nice from a style standpoint, but for practical use—especially under chairs or furniture—it’s not ideal. Straight edges all the way around would sit cleaner and be less noticeable when positioned under seating.
For open areas or decorative use, the scalloped design works fine. But if you’re trying to fit it neatly under furniture like porch chairs, it’s not as clean of a fit as a standard rectangular edge.
Overall, it’s a solid outdoor rug with good durability and appearance, just better suited for open layouts than tight furniture arrangements.
Good for protecting bare feet from patio
We are in the process of restaining our deck and the rain hasn’t ben very helpful. I picked this rug up to cover some rough boards on the deck from bare feet running in an out. I like the scalloped edge, thats a cool touch other than having a straight rectangle. The color is a little darker than i was expecting but i also think it will sun fade a bit so I’m fine with it. There wasn’t any weird smells to it and the rug evened itself out in the sun after a few days. I took off one start because i feel the price is high. I don’t think this is a $59 rug. To me, I think it is $39 maybe maximum.

Lovely scalloped edging on a very well produced Garvee waterproof outdoor rug w/ carry case & stakes
I have been looking for an outdoor rug like this for a while.
I decided on this Garvee outdoor rug because of the scalloped edging. That little detail gives this rug the perfect accent I wanted! Most outdoor rugs are just square and boring, but this one has added that extra detail which brings the design attributes and usage to a higher level, in my opinion.
The outdoor rug is lovely yet able to withstand the elements in an outdoor setting. Since it is made of plastic straw, it is waterproof, fade-proof, and UV-resistant. You don’t have to worry about keeping it outdoors. If you put patio furniture over the rug, it will stay in place, but if you have it out camping it is best to stake it down with the included stakes.
I am really happy that this outdoor rug has a storage bag with a handle plus stakes. I plan on using this on my patio under my outdoor dining table. With the scalloped edging, it adds a decorative touch that creates an elegant outdoor eating area. It is also great that it is reversible so you can use the side that looks the best for your area.
Because of how nice this outdoor rug is, I plan on purchasing another one to take camping. I didn’t realize it could fold up into such a small footprint, so it would be nice to have one at the campsite.
I highly recommend this Garvee waterproof outdoor rug! It is so lovely and well made and will last a very long time. It is well worth the investment.
