Solid all around keyboard
Very small size, exactly what I was looking for. Fits into my in-bed mouse keyboard gaming setup. Switches feel excellent. Didn’t like the keycaps sound and feel, so swapped for some I had around. Layers of dampening seem fine. Didn’t like that macro fn+spacebar is preprogrammed to open windows run app and open browser to their online keyboard program, seems kind of sketchy, though convenient. The online app is intuitive and useful. It is a website hosted in China. I don’t imagine I’ll make any more changes after having set up rapid trigger, arrow keys in fn1 layer, and rgb colors. Keycaps could be upgraded, housing is plastic but still feels solid. Performance is good, feels quick and responsive. Good price, good product for a niche market from a reputable keyboard maker.
Really good keyboard to have when you want more room for your mouse!
I have always liked these smaller keyboards for gaming which I have used in the past but they were not mechanical like this one is, and to make it even better this is a hall effect keyboard which is perfect. This has all the features that a normal size one has it is just a lot smaller and designed to use when gaming to have more space to move your mouse around. Now this won’t replace your normal keyboard or even for normal typing on because it is just too small for that and not what it is designed for.
The build quality is solid and with the PBT keycaps and the magnetic linear switches it is very smooth and has a thocky creamy sound as most hall effect keyboards do, depending on how hard you press on them which isn’t new to me because I have a good bit of them, I also like the orange strap on it which matches the theme with the ESC and space bar key and you can choose not to install the strap if you don’t like it.
The RGB backlighting has a good brightness while also having a lot of effects to choose from that can be set on the keyboard itself or with the cloud base software which most will want to use because a hall effect keyboard is nothing without its software, and it is very simple to get to by pushing FN+space bar and it takes you right to the cloud software which I wish all keyboards had that set right from the start. Things I like to set when I get hall effect keyboards is switch sensitivity to 1.0MM changing the backlit to per key lighting to the colors I like and making sure its on 8k polling rate, I really don’t mess or feel the need for rapid trigger features on the games I play yet.
It is a really nice 30% one handed keyboard with all the features you would want in a keyboard while also giving you more room on your desk when gaming! Only thing that would’ve made it even better is having 2.4ghz and Bluetooth functionality which isn’t a con at all for me it is fine as it is but it would’ve been nice to have. So it does get a solid 5 stars from me and I really like i
Perfect for some games (FPS, MOBA). Can't be main keyboard, still need a full keyboard.
The EPOMAKER HE30 is a compact one-handed gaming keyboard designed primarily for competitive PC gaming. It uses Hall Effect switches instead of traditional mechanical contacts, which allows adjustable actuation points and rapid trigger behavior. Combined with its advertised 8K polling rate and 0.125 ms response time, the keyboard aims to deliver extremely fast input for games where timing and precision matter. The layout focuses on the most commonly used gaming keys, making it suitable for FPS, MOBA, and other titles where the left hand handles movement and commands.
I use it with my laptop, but if you don’t – still plan on having a full keyboard available for other things.
Build Quality and Design
The HE30 has a solid feel for such a small keyboard. The chassis is compact and stable on the desk, and the PBT keycaps feel durable with a slightly textured surface that resists shine better than standard ABS caps. The black and orange color scheme gives it a distinctive gaming aesthetic without looking overly flashy. RGB lighting is included and can be customized through software, adding visual flair while remaining optional for users who prefer a cleaner setup.
Hall Effect Switch Performance
The Hall Effect technology is the main highlight of this keyboard. Instead of relying on a fixed actuation point, you can adjust how far a key must travel before it registers. This allows very light, rapid key presses for fast movement or deeper actuation for more deliberate input. The rapid trigger capability helps with quick directional changes in games, which can feel noticeably more responsive compared with standard mechanical switches.
Gaming Features
Several competitive-focused features are included. SOCD (Simultaneous Opposing Cardinal Direction) handling is useful for certain games where pressing opposite directions simultaneously matters. Snap key and adjustable trigger settings also allow players to fine-tune responsiveness to their preference. The 8K polling rate is a premium spec typically found on high-end gaming peripherals, and while the difference may be subtle for many users, it contributes to the keyboard’s overall responsiveness.
Software and Customization
EPOMAKER provides software for configuring actuation points, lighting effects, and other advanced features. The interface is fairly straightforward, though like many peripheral utilities it may take a few minutes to understand where everything is located. Once configured, the keyboard becomes highly customizable for different games or play styles.
Who It’s For
This keyboard is best suited for gamers who prefer a dedicated left-hand gaming keypad rather than a full keyboard. It can also be useful for players with limited desk space or those who want a more ergonomic gaming position. However, because it’s a one-handed layout, it’s not meant to replace a full keyboard for typing or general computer use.
Pros
Fast Hall Effect switches with adjustable actuation
Compact one-handed layout ideal for gaming
Durable PBT keycaps
8K polling rate and rapid trigger capability
Customizable RGB lighting and software controls
Cons
Not suitable as a primary typing keyboard
Some users may find the software basic compared to larger gaming brands
Benefits of 8K polling may be hard to notice for casual gamers
Rating: 4.5 / 5
Functional
Instantly gravitated to this keyboard because the others looked ridiculous with their “cool” edgy gamer styles with the rainbow lights. After using it I’m glad I got it. This is nice looking, functional, compact, the mechanical keys feel good to press, it’s portable, and a reasonable price. Exactly what I need to play games in tight spaces, or on the couch, no notes, 5 out of 5
Half-keyboard that frees up my desk game
I have been running the HE30 one-handed hall effect keyboard for a few weeks now on my main battlestation, and it has completely changed how I approach FPS sessions and even some coding marathons. The 30% layout with 36 keys is genius for left-hand heavy games like CS or Valorant: wasd cluster feels natural, and i remapped abilities/macros to thumb clusters via the web software in minutes.
What hooked me deep is the hall effect tuning: set movement keys to 0.1mm rapid trigger for instant strafing, while ultimates sit at 3.4mm to avoid fat-finger bombs. SOCD snaps to my last direction input so no sticky corners mid-duel, and DKS lets one stroke chain 4 actions like reload+jump+switch. 8K polling at 0.125ms latency feels snappier than my full Wooting, confirmed in keyboard inspector tests.
The keycaps stayed grippy up to now, which was surprising with my habit of eating various snack while playing. The tray mount with dampening gives creamy thock quieter than my 60%, and the per-key RGB plus light bar syncs vibes without distraction. It also weighs almost nothing at 320g and has a nice wrist strap to easily carry it around.
Downsides? Pretty minor: I don’t see how anyone could use it with their right hand without relearning all key muscle memory.
My desk space quadrupled and now allow huge mouse sweeps. Yeah, that’s a plus.
5 stars for niche domination.
Excellent Performance for Competitive Gamers
A little bit difficult to swallow at around $40 but does come with a competitive performance boost with quality and durability that is expected at this price range.
This keyboard is an incredible with its hall effect switches, making it feel extremely smooth while hitting 8K polling rates for near-instant response times. This gives quite the advantage in fast-paced shooters. I do like love the creamy sound of the pre-lubed switches and the feel of the PBT keycaps. It doesn’t get oily either during when used for a while.
Gamers assemble
As someone who plays a lot of FPS and competitive titles, this one-handed keyboard immediately stood out. The compact 30% layout gives a huge amount of mouse space, which is perfect if you run low sensitivity and need big flicks. My desk feels noticeably less cramped compared to using a full keyboard.
The Hall Effect switches are the real highlight. The adjustable actuation is not just a gimmick — being able to fine-tune movement keys to ultra-short trigger points makes strafing feel extremely responsive. You can also set deeper actuation if you prefer a more deliberate press, which helps prevent accidental inputs. Once dialed in, movement feels crisp and controlled.
The 8,000 Hz polling rate is impressive. Inputs feel instant, especially during rapid key sequences. There’s no noticeable delay, and the board keeps up easily during fast-paced gameplay. The anti-ghosting is solid as well — even with multiple keys pressed in quick succession, everything registers properly.
I also really appreciate features like Snap Key (SOCD handling) and dynamic keystroke functions. Movement priority feels consistent, and complex keybinds are easy to configure through the web-based software. Being browser-based makes setup simple, and it works smoothly without requiring heavy background software.
Build quality is excellent. The PBT keycaps feel durable and resistant to shine. The switches are factory-lubed and give that smooth, slightly muted “creamy” sound that mechanical keyboard enthusiasts look for. It feels premium without being overly loud, which is great for late-night sessions.
The RGB lighting is vibrant and fully adjustable, and the added light strip gives it a nice visual touch without being distracting. The removable wrist strap is also a clever detail for portability — it’s easy to throw into a bag for travel or LAN events.
Overall, this is a highly customizable and performance-focused one-handed keyboard. It’s clearly designed with competitive gamers in mind, but it’s equally enjoyable for casual play. If you want maximum desk space, ultra-fast input, and fine control over actuation, this delivers.
Fast, Responsive, and Customizable
This keyboard is a strong choice for competitive gaming. It’s extremely responsive and the adjustable trigger distance is a cool feature.
The switches feel smooth and consistent, and the keycaps are durable looking. The compact layout frees up a lot of desk space and it can be really useful.
The web-based software makes macros and key remapping straightforward, and features like SOCD (Snap Key) and dynamic keystroke options add flexibility for advanced setups. RGB lighting is bright and fully adjustable, and the build feels solid overall.
One of the best FPS keyboards
Much needed peripheral for travel. Wasn’t a fan of the switches and caps so immediately swapped them out to GeonHEs and ceramics for a thockier sound profile. It was also very easy to adjust to match my wooting’s actuation with the advised software.
