3.5 Stars.🌟 Mixed Feelings: I Like It, But Needs Tweaks.✅ Shoulder Impedes On The Edge.❌
I’ve been using this pillow for almost a month now and I find it okay. I like it more than my soft pillows, however the shape just isn’t quite right and could use some adjustments. More on that below.
WHAT I LIKE:
Excellent quality and feels well made.
Has just the right amount of squish. I find the pillow to be relatively firm, which is nice because I’m tired of having to plump up my pillow several times throughout the night. I don’t have to do that anymore.
Nice size and fits into a standard sized pillowcase. It already comes with a removable case, but it’s white and I don’t like the idea of transferring my face masks or overnight creams onto it.Or on the rare occasion I get a bit tipsy one night and forget to take off my makeup.
WHAT I DON’T LIKE:
After almost a month, the pillow is okay. I’m still using it, however I have to add another thin pillow under it because I don’t find it high enough. I tend to wake up dizzy because it is lacking that elevation.
My shoulder often gets in the way of the pillows edge under my neck and I have to put my shoulder under the pillow in order for my head to fit into the groove. This sometimes causes a sore shoulder in the morning.
I didn’t find the grooves for the arms very useful at all. It’s a nice idea for those who may need them I suppose.
The pillowcase is white and I don’t recommend using it without another type of cover. Honestly, it’s a bit thin to be used as the main pillowcase in my opinion. Luckily a regular one will work just fine.
OVERALL:
I’ve found a way to make this pillow work for me with some adjustments. Everyone is different and will require different needs, so my problem will likely not be the same for someone else. For that reason, I cannot judge this pillow too harshly because it is very well made. Plus, I do like it now that I have added another pillow to go with it.
It is actually comfortable!
I ordered this pillow because I did not like the neck pillow I bought from my chiropractor. I have slept on it for 4 nights now. I can already tell it has helped to realign my neck! It is so much softer and more inviting than my other pillow! Also, I prefer to sleep on my side. This pillow allows you to do that without messing your neck up!
better for for BACK sleepers
I’m giving this 5 stars because it does exactly what it says: provides excellent neck support while sleeping.
There is definitely a window of adjustment. For one, you can’t really move side to side with this pillow. Because the design of the pillow is that the sides goes upwards, you’re pretty much stuck in that position all night. It made me realize that I have bad untreated sleep apnea, because my body kept wanting to move around even though I couldn’t.
Design is very unique. Its not heavy nor light as a pillow, maybe a little bit heavier than a small down pillow. I would say the quality is high because of the design. It really is design so that your neck is supported. I didn’t see any cooling effect, though I didn’t overheat while using it.
Overall, I’m still getting used to it. I think its a LOT better for BACK sleepers and not side sleepers because the design just seems better for neck support while sleeping on your back. Price is comparable to value so I would say its in a good price point.
Surprisingly comfy for side sleeping and I really like the ear space and arm cutouts
I mainly sleep on my side, so I was curious how this pillow would feel compared to the usual flat memory foam blocks I’ve tried in the past. After giving it a few nights, I can say it is surprisingly comfortable. The little dip in the center gives my ear somewhere to rest without getting squished, and the cutouts along the sides make it easy to keep my arm in a natural position instead of tucking it under my head.
The foam is on the firmer side, but it softens just enough once you settle in. It kept its shape through the night and did not have any chemical smell when I unpacked it. The cover is cool to the touch and breathable, so I did not feel the need to put another pillowcase over it. Washing the cover was simple, though getting it back on took a moment to figure out.
I cannot speak to back or stomach sleeping since those positions never work for me, but for side sleeping this has been a comfortable change from my usual pillow. It does take a night or two to get used to the shape, but once you settle into it, the support feels natural.
Overall, it is a well made pillow with a thoughtful design, and the ear well and arm cutouts are the features I appreciated most.
Crazy Comfortable.
I am flabbergasted to say that this is the most comfortable pillow I have ever used. This ugly pillow is so crazy comforable guys. I seriously can’t sleep without it anymore.
I woudn’t say the recommended way to use it is the most comfortable though. I prefer to turn it upside down and sleep on the flatter side of this pillow. For whatever reason, the main side of this pillow feels like the pillow is slightly too high up for me. Considering I have fairly large shoulders for a women, I feel like most people would feel like this pillow is way to high for them. The main side is nice for a little bit, or if you want to wear headphones to bed, but after a little bit I feel the need to switch to the other side for less height.
I cannot imagine sleeping on your back with this pillow unless you just had like deviated septum surgery (that was the worst week of sleep in my life, I wish I had this pillow then) becuase it seriously lifts you head up so high. I can comfortablly see my TV if I lay on the back with this pillow. It supports my head so nicely but why is my head facing my TV, thats so odd. The firmness is really good at holding my head still so If I wanted to sleep on my back, at the very least it does support you head. So if you ever needed a pillow to hold your head up after surgery, this pillow is has great vaule in that for the price.
The recomended arm position is super uncomfortable, which is funny becuase I got this pillow becuase I thought that part looked novel. Who’d think that this would turn into my favorite pillow ever and I would hate the arm thing. It’s just, it doesn’t fit? Your hand doesn’t naturally go to that position? Like, normally your hand when folded up goes to your shoulder, not up parallel to your face. It’s like I’m awkwardly streaching my arm up if I try to put my hand over there. Perhaps I have an unknown mobility issue–it is true that I tend to use two hands (one hand supporting the elbow of the other) to grab my seat belt ever since I was a kid and I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone else do that. Huh, food for thought.
I haven’t tried to wash it yet, becuase I felt intimidated by the 20 warnings not to wash the pillow and only wash the pillowcase covering it. Whats wrong with the pillow, why can’t I wash it. Is it just becuase it’s a sponge? or is there some other reason? Is it fiberglass? Is it just that it’d loose it’s form? I will never know.
Also, I think this pillow may have had a smell, not a bad one, but like of washing detergent. I do not have a strong sense of smell, but I did think I might have smelled something floral.
Anyway, you can cover this hidious pillow with a normal pillow case so it matches the other pillows in on your bed.
Supportive and comfortable pillow at a great price!
Perfect design for my neck. Provides firm support but comfortable support. You don’t feel like your head/neck are sleeping on a brick. The pillow is a little higher than the majority of neck support pillows I have seen. Most pillows range on the lower side are between 3 to 3.8 inches in height. The lower side on this pillow is 4.4 inches. Excellent quality at a great price.
Quite Comfortable!
I found this pillow a little bit difficult to review at first because I kept falling asleep before I could form an opinion!
Now that I’ve had some time to sleep on it, lounge on it, and mess with it while not tired, the verdict is that I should have just given it 5 stars when I kept falling asleep on it!
The pillow case is surprisingly cool and comfortable- I would definitely discourage people from covering it with another case. This did mean needing to wash the case before use, which was easy enough (I laid it flat to dry) but it wasn’t entirely intuitive which direction to put it back on. To be clear, I washed it on principle- the pillow and case actually had no chemical smell when opened, more of a subtle floral scent, which I can only assume was sprayed on before/during packing.
There are a mix of reviews stating the pillow is quite firm or fairly soft; I would say that is all relative to what you’re used to sleeping on. This is no down pillow, but it is far softer than my firm pillows I typically use to support my neck during sleep. It is definitely a formed pillow and maintains its shape through the night.
I have noticed no new or worsening neck, shoulder, or upper back pain since using this pillow. I can’t say it has helped or hindered my headache frequency. I have learned to be a back sleeper while dealing with some medical issues and find the pillow quite comfortable for that. When I do revert to side sleeping, the arm cradle is a nice feature and I find I’m less likely to extend my arm up under my head, which is better for my shoulders. I can’t say that I find rotating the pillow 180 degrees makes a tremendous amount of difference for me between back and side sleeping, though some people might be more sensitive to that.
On the whole, I think the only suggestion I have might be to improve the instructions. They are currently somewhat entertaining (showing how to unpack the pillow), and state repeatedly DO NOT GET THE PILLOW WET, but could benefit from a diagram showing which laying position each orientation of the pillow is intended for, and maybe some tips for how to get the case back on after washing.
Overall, I’m glad I ordered this and my daughter is eager to steal it and give it a try, too!
Finally able to get a good nights res
Such a comfortable and soft neck pillow and exactly what I was needing to finally get a good nights rest. I love that it cradles my neck and because I have arthritis, I’m able to have a soft place to rest my arms and hands at night. So far it has kept its shape and given me the support I need at night. It fits my standard size pillowcases as well. Definitely a good quality pillow for a reasonable price.
Cervical neck pillow
I ordered this pillow because I have a lot of neck problems and new ear piercings and I thought it would train me to sleep on my back more. It definitely does that and it’s comfortable for back sleeping, but the pillow is very firm and the first night I slept on it on my side, my earrings dug into my skin and it was quite painful. The first night on this pillow was so uncomfortable I went back to my old pillow for a night, but woke up with awful neck pain. So I gave this one another try and oddly, it was way more comfortable the second time. And although my earrings still dug in a little, it wasn’t as bad. I think it’s one of those pillows that you need to give a bit of time to adjust to. I do like it now, as I woke up without neck pain except for one stubborn spot. I will keep using it, as it is helping me to sleep on my back and the side sleeping is getting more comfortable.
So be aware it’s quite a firm pillow, and it’s small, and it takes a bit of getting used to, but it is a well made pillow. It does look a bit odd on the bed with its shape, but waking up without neck pain is more important to me than how it looks. When it arrived it fluffed up instantly but I waited the full 24 hours before using it, as mentioned in the instructions. It has a washable cover but I threw a pillowcase over the top as I didn’t want to wait to wash the cover before using it.
I recommend it if you like firm pillows or are willing to give it a few nights to adjust. If you prefer soft pillows and just don’t think you would ever like a firm one, give this a miss. It’s much firmer than any other memory foam pillow I’ve ever used. ut does it support my neck and head well? Yes!
Nice for side sleepers
I can be really picky when it comes to pillows. I am a side sleeper and want a pillow that maintains good support and height all night so that my neck doesn’t end up at a weird angle. I also sleep hot so I need a pillow that breathes well at least and, if it stays cool, even better. This pillow managed to meet most of my expectations, which I am pleasantly surprised by.
The odd shape provides a lot of support both when laying on my back and sleeping on my side. It maintains its shape while I sleep too, even after several weeks of use, I have not had the urge to turn it over. This is for the best though because, this pillow is only one sided, flipping it means losing the benefits of the pillow. The pillow does stay quite cool and breathes well which makes the need to flip it even less important.
I will say that it is quite small, not a problem if you don’t move a lot but if you are someone that tosses and turns a bit art night, you may find this pillow does not give you enough space to move around since there is a “right way” to use it. Other than that and the fact that it is a single sided pillow, I really like it and would recommend it to other side sleepers.
