Good shuffler but could be improved
I have another card shuffler and I’ll compare the two.
This is loud, but all card shufflers are. It peaks around 85db. My other card shuffler is the same. The nature of these devices is that they are loud.
The other shuffler takes 4 C batteries. This is USB-C rechargeable. I haven’t tested to see how long it will last, but I used for a day and it didn’t slow down.
This has the option to press to shuffle or shuffle automatically. My other is just press to shuffle. This one doesn’t shut off automatically, but it’s nice that you don’t have to hold a button the whole 15 seconds it takes to run. That makes it easier to use than the older shuffler I have.
I like that the card chamber allows you to remove the cards on a tray or shuffle directly on to the table. I’ve had experiences with younger kids accidentally dropping the tray and we need to reshuffle. Having the cards go directly on the table means kids can pick it up and they have less risk of dropping the cards.
The weight is pretty light, I would guess about 1.5 pounds. It’s light enough that kids can pick it up.
It feels pretty solid, generally high quality for what it is. It really makes shuffling easy for kids.
I do have two negatives. First, the on-off button is on the bottom. If you’ve loaded cards and realize you forgot to turn it on you have to pick it up carefully or remove the cards to turn it on. I wish the switch could be on the side instead.
Second, there are no lights to give hints about it charging. I plugged it in and had to check carefully that it was plugged in correctly and charging. I left it plugged in for 3 hours. I don’t know if that was too long or not long enough to charge. An LED that is red when charging and green when full would be very helpful. It would be even better if the LED would also give an idea of how much battery is left while using it.
Move the switch and add an LED and this would be great.
