I like these spinners; they provide much needed reflectiveness that discourage the birds from the area where they are located.
These spinners are a mix of cheap plastic with metallic coating used for the spinner pieces ( the 3 attachments) but the base and arm that those reside on are much heavier and seem to be real metal and the arm spins on a sealed bearing.
They were easy to put together, just slide the reflective pieces onto the main body, they just slide and snap into place. Then attach the mounting base using the provided nut, the plate screws onto the threaded body post then the nut secures it all together.
I have not yet permanently mounted these as I wanted to see how well the performed first.
These are really quite effective and also eye appealing and decorative.
They easily catch the breeze and spin often. It has just been a few days since placing them and I have already noticed the birds are staying out of the area.
Overall, this is a decent product. Perhaps the construction of the spinner parts is purposeful in that they are lightweight and that makes them easier to spin with minimal breeze. I am pleased with the looks and effectiveness of this product.

I’m happy with this device. The construction is simple, yet sturdy. The reflector and spindle are all made of plastic, and coated with a nice shinny substance. Very Reflective.
Easy to assemble. When putting this together, you’ll get to the step where you’ll have to use four small screws to secure the metal to the plastic. First, thread each screw into a hole. This will make it much simpler because you’ll not have to fight keeping the metal assembly stable and thread screws into holes that don’t have thread. But it you first thread the screws into the holes at least half way down, it makes it much easier. Just reverse them all after you’ve put them in, and bang, you’re set.
Another assembly hint is: When attaching the mounting plate to the shaft, it isn’t required to turn it until it stops. Instead, turn it to a place that is as snug as possible, but in a position that allows for the pre-drilled holes of the plate to match where you’re going to mount it. IE: if you’re mounting on a Cross pattern, just make sure that you’ve screwed the plate so that the holes are straight up and down, side to side. Then tighten the nut down firmly. This will keep the whole thing lined up to your mounting surface, and it will keep it from loosening up and leaning.
The Spinning is smooth and effortless. It really doesn’t take much of a breeze to make this device spin. And again, it is highly reflective, so it produces great results.
Assembly time is about 10 minutes, tops.
I’m using mine on the inside of a Car Port. I have other devices, that has helped eliminate my bird problem, but there is one spot that they’ve managed to build a nest in. So, I got this installed and the birds have not returned.
It is adjustable, so it can be placed almost anywhere. The mounting bracket has pre-drilled holes and makes it simple to secure to almost any surface.
I think the materials used will last for many years in the location I’ve chosen. But, I have seen materials like this get sun faded after just a couple of years when put into direct sunlight. Each product is different, but that has been my experience.
