I've been looking for this.
I’m glad I found this. The one it replaced was great but it clamped onto the screen and made the screen protector bubble a bit. This sticks to the back of the monitor perfectly and was easy to apply. The magnet strength is good and holds my phone great plus charges my phone oh so good. Be sure to clean the back of the monitor with an alcohol wipe to ensure good attachment and solid suction. Only one thing that needs to be changed. If you want to plug in the charger in a port just below the back seat monitor, Model Y Juniper, you’ll need a longer cord with an elbow. Then just a little Velcro tape to run the cord along the center console is perfect.
Mounting surface is key
The reason why this phone mount specifies “for EV” is because it works best on a mounting surface that is flat, solid, and preferably vertical, such as the back of a typical EV center screen. Adhesive is all there is to stick the rubber disc base onto the mounting surface, no suction. It is important to totally untighten the mounting knob when sticking the base because tightening will pull the center of the disc away from the mounting surface.
I have mixed feelings about the wireless charger. You can do without the wireless charger here and just plug the charging cable directly into your phone for faster and more efficient charging. The cable port on the wireless charger is in an awkward position for frequent plugging/unplugging. If you use the wireless charger, then mostly likely the cable will stay plugged in all the time, dangling unsightly. The wireless charger itself is very good, pumping about 15W into my iPhone.
I have no complaint about the magnetic mount. It holds my phone with magsafe case securely.
Overall build quality is good. This mount can be very satisfactory if you find a suitable location to mount.
